Cold sores and toothpaste27 Sep 2004 14:15 GMT4
I think this is the correct group for my question. My wife suffers from cold
sores and finds she experiences particularly bad outbreaks if she uses gel
or 'extra minty' types of toothpaste. She is OK when using the less bracing
coolmint type.

It's just me back on the net after this poor old computer decided to take a
long nap on me. Hope everyone is doing well!

infection question21 Sep 2004 23:08 GMT1
My partner of 2 years gets cold sores on his lips/nose area. We talked
about it a little early on in the relationship and he told me that
kissing or oral sex can pass on the virus but that he was careful and
had never infected a girlfriend.
Can Valtrex prevent transmission?21 Sep 2004 13:33 GMT7
I get cold sores a couple of times a year, so I have a prescription

Anyone experience BAD test results?20 Sep 2004 16:45 GMT3
Has anyone on here experienced any bad test results?  I'm curious as to
positive results only to find out later that you were actually negative.
I've been dealing with a less than stellar doc here and have pretty much had
to do it all for him.  I'm waiting for a copy of my lab ...
Atypical symptoms?20 Sep 2004 14:56 GMT1
I went to my doctor because I was experiencing itching, burning (especially
during urination), swelling, and a yellow-green discharge.  When she checked
me out she noticed that I had what she described as little cuts, which COULD
be a sign of herpes, but normally not.  I have ...

This process may be augmented by viral genes shown to interfere with
apoptosis, such as ICP34.5, which act to prevent neuronal death during
reactivation where limited replication occurs.
Betnovate ointment on cold sres06 Sep 2004 17:13 GMT1
Several years ago when I had a particularly bad outbreak of cold sores
I asked my doctor if he could suggest anything and he prescribed
Betnovate ointment.
I've used it ever since (although I now buy an equivalent one called
newbie with questions!06 Sep 2004 14:52 GMT3
Hallo, folks!
I recently tested negative for the HSV I & II antibodies.  But I have a
small, recurring genital sore.  Looks just like the kind of canker sore I
get occasionally INSIDE my mouth--a single, small, raised, red, sensitive
Questions04 Sep 2004 02:31 GMT2
I have several of the symptons of oral and genital herpes, but I have
never had any form of sex.
Dose this mean I must have got the virus from some kind of encounted
sexual abuse in the past?
Time until primary outbreak03 Sep 2004 05:14 GMT2
How long does HSV stay dormant in the body after being first
contracted?  Is it possible to get a primary outbreak years after
initial exposure or is that highly unlikely?

protect or not to protect02 Sep 2004 01:30 GMT3
Major question, I have been blessed enough to meet a lovely young lady
that also has genital herpes and I am looking for some quick info before
going to talk to my doctor.
So what do you think ?
