Hello all you brave Dragon Slayers.
This is just to remind you all that Saturday really is St George's Day, the
patron saint of all dragonslayers, and y'all had better get down on yer knees
and give thanks.
ALT levels not dropping24 Apr 2005 17:43 GMT16
I had my 12 week blood work taken, as expected my heamaglobin is dropping
now at 12.6, though I am still swimming and weight training.  I haven't had
the PCR test results back yet but at week 4 and 8 these came back as
undetectable so I expect the same on this test.

They estimate that about 5 million in the USA are HCV+. That is about one
in fifty! Most of these people don't know they have it. That is not a
secret to us in this NG.
From these numbers, I am assuming that it's easier to get than a simple

Insurance coverage - Anyone with C got Bluechoice HMO?23 Apr 2005 20:16 GMT8
Wife and I are positive now and it has come to the period for our
health insurance renewal choices. If we stay with the PPO it's more
expensive but if we go with the Bluechoice HMO, it is cheaper but we
cannot go back. They speak of a "standard treatment" with some
Toot toot?23 Apr 2005 20:08 GMT8
To toot, or not to toot?  That IS the question.  Is a jar containing
half a fart only half full?  A toot in the hand is worth two in the
bush.  There's always room for gas.  I fart, therefore I am.  Got
cabbage?
Wife & I diagnosed-follow up23 Apr 2005 18:48 GMT6
I posted the original message. My wife tested positive last June. I
was negative then. I tested positive 3 weeks ago but the levels are so
low that they cannot get a genotype. It's a mystery because when she
tested positive we started taking precautions but I got it anyway. Her

This message is primarily for newbies and those considering treatment.
I'm type 1A and when I talked to my first BCLD he said I had a 30%
chance that trx would work for me.  Early cirrhosis and start looking
for a pine box was basically his counsel.  Well, 16 weeks into trx I

My father, aged 60, has completed an interferon + ribavirin treatment
that has lasted 10 months.
All seemed succesful, after 3 months since the end of the treatment
the virus was not detected.

hep c and gall stones21 Apr 2005 19:12 GMT5
My wife was diagnosed with Hep C a week ago, and they are also wanting
to do gall bladder surgery on her as soon as possible. It was the most
bizarre thing. Three weeks ago she develops this intense rash around her
lower abdomen after coming home from a police training exercise that ...
