To those who responded to my troubled post15 Aug 2004 16:22 GMT146
First off, let me apologize for my depressed and troubled posting yesterday
. Those of you who were kind and caring enough to respond, I can only say
that I'm very moved by your responses. Yesterday was not a very good day for
me for a myriad of reasons. I had become overwhelmed by ...

Shawn isn't doing very well again.  For those of you who believe in the
power of prayer, please keep Shawn and his wife, Randi in yours.  I know
both of them appreciate your love and kindness.  Thanks.

Finally got to see my GI doc today. He seems very good, and was very
reassuring. he has looked at my past tests, and I am now scheduled for a
CT scan for next Tuesday (7-6) and then  My Liver Biopsy on 7-13.
with a whole plethora of blood tests scheduled for in between the two.
Stabbing pains, like a hot knife in the side.14 Aug 2004 23:03 GMT8
I've been getting the "old stabbing pains in the side" thing again. It comes
and goes but lately the duration has been longer.
Someone once explained what these sharp jabbing pains in the area of the
Liver are, I've forgotten.
15 minutes of fame14 Aug 2004 22:24 GMT4
I got the news this week about my latest biopsy.  My liver is basically
the same as it was 12 years ago, no better and thankfully no worse.
Still have cirrhosis, the good thing is that, even though I haven't
killed the dragon, the maintenance dosage of Peg seems to have him in
Question about the aftermath14 Aug 2004 22:15 GMT6
I have a question for anyone who has completed the TX .
How long before the side effects go away?  I know that
they do, all the literature says so...but it doesn't say how
long it takes.  Not even an average.  Do you feel 100%
The effects of TX on emotional responses14 Aug 2004 21:07 GMT2
First off... I am not going to apologize for my obvious
joy in debating...or even arguing.  I would like to say
it's because of the meds but the truth is I always loved
a good debate.  It gets the brain cells going.  Helps that
Pre Tx prep14 Aug 2004 01:55 GMT22
Elmo had mentioned that I should go get my teeth cleaned before I start. I
have made that appointment.
Is there anything else I should do that my doctor might not inform me of?
I am type 2 diabetic under control with diet and exercise if that matters.
2nd shot nearly killed me14 Aug 2004 00:12 GMT17
Maybe an overstatement. But good gracious, its not too far off. I barely
have the strength to type this.
Why am I posting today? Last night around 10:00p.m. I gave myself the 2nd
shot of Peg-Intron, had a snack, then went to bed. Just in case anything
Biopsy result - I need help please.13 Aug 2004 06:48 GMT24
I had my biopsy yesterday and they told me it usually takes 3 days for the
results. My doc must have put a rush on it because I just got the results on
my fax.
My doc is gone till 8/19.

My hair begins to fall more intensively than normal. I am in week 14.
How can I reduce and stop hairs to fall. I know that it is a normal side
and eventually hair will grow again, but I still do not like it.

How painful will my death be?12 Aug 2004 23:45 GMT42
After being diagnosed with HC, I opted to avoid both interferon and a
transplant because I want my remaining time to be as pleasant as possible.
Could someone please tell me what to expect as the end draws near?  Will it
be painful? Will I go quickly?
Ping: Waterspider12 Aug 2004 15:29 GMT3
Waterspider,
I remember you saying that you had fibromyalgia before starting treatment.
As you know, I have fibro. too.  The sleep problem hasn't improved any thru
treatment.  The pain is somewhat better, but I still can't get a deep
