There is data on various medications effect on IOP. I would like to see data on the effectiveness of various medications on actually controlling glaucoma. Is there such data?

| Nasonex | 19 Apr 2005 13:33 GMT | 2 |
Hi, all, My internist is suggesting I switch from Allegra-D pills to Nasonex nasal spray to treat my allergies because of dry-mouth problems. However, I'm concerned because it's a corticosteroid.

It has been suggested that determing whether marijuana could be effective as a glaucoma medication would be a long process. It seems to me that it would not be all that

| Wrongly diagnosed | 15 Apr 2005 08:42 GMT | 2 |
In the early 90s an opthomologist diagnosed glaucoma (left IOP of 26) and told me I could be blind in 8 years. I was given samples of a drug (name unremembered) which I was supposed to put in my eyes for the rest of my life. Given the warnings about possible heart muscle ...

| Ginkgo Biloba for a pre-diabetic taking Avandia & a diuretic | 11 Apr 2005 18:03 GMT | 1 |
Would taking Avandia and a diuretic automatically preclude taking Ginkgo Biloba for a NTG patient seeking remedies other than surgery (already on Xalatan, Alphagan and Cosopt)?

| Ophthalmic beta-blockers and Bradycardia | 07 Apr 2005 14:10 GMT | 2 |
Any words of wisdom on blockers as a possible cause Bradycardia? I have been using drops for 34 years for Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma, including timolol (alone and in cosopt). My heart rate has been gradually slowing up over the years and is presently as low as 45 beats

| New glaucoma drugs? | 04 Apr 2005 19:23 GMT | 6 |
I wonder what the newest glaucoma medications might be. I am familiar with Alphagan, AlphaganP, Travatan, Lumigan, Cosopt and the older Timoptic, Pilocarpine, but wonder if there are any more recent ones that have been helpful with POAG.

| Xalatan | 04 Apr 2005 19:22 GMT | 3 |
Maybe I'm just a cynic. The recently announced study showing that Xalatan used weekly was as effective as when used daily makes me wonder whether Pharmacia (the company that makes it) knew this all along. That's why the refrigeration, the

Have been using this product for four years upon refilling today my Pharmacist advised me that once the container is opened the contents should only be used for thirty days. one container has lasted me three months, using one drop a day along with cosopt. Are other users of this

| Do MRI scans interact with the metal plates installed during shunt (tube) Glaucoma surgeries | 01 Apr 2005 06:15 GMT | 2 |
MRI machine operators usually question people closely about possible metal fragments remaining in eyes after accidents; presumably because MRI can move these metal fragments around. Wouldn't the same apply to the metal plates installed in "shunt"

| Sudden eye pain & irritiation | 01 Apr 2005 06:00 GMT | 4 |
I wonder what someone, especially one of the pros, might think of a person with a POAG history who was awakened at 3 a.m. with fairly severe pain in an eye. Pressure a couple of weeks ago was 15 with CoSopt and Xalatan, and exam had shown angles "wide open." After

| Any risks in measuring eye pressure repeatedly on the same day (diurnal curve)? | 01 Apr 2005 05:54 GMT | 1 |
I am going to have a "tonometric" or "diurnal curve" done, that is, my eye pressure will be measured repeatedly during the day every hour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. I am a bit worried: won't so many measurements hurt my eyes? I had an episode of corneal abrasion about fifteen years ago ...
