I have had TLE all my life (I am 47 now). I was taking dilantin until I was 10 or 11. Before they took me off dilantin I was a straight A student, able to do math a year or two ahead of other students. When I went off the dilantin it was because they thought I didn't need it

I've been going through some changes lately in my medications after basically having the same thing for about 20 years. I've been taking zonisamide for the past couple of months, which is something of an improvement over carbamazepine/lamotrigine, but has its own problems.
