Family member with epilepsy29 Mar 2006 22:58 GMT3
I hope to NOT come off sounding completely stupid, in this post.
Please be forgiving if I fail.
I have a family member who has had epilepsy for probably about 30+
years.  She was diagnosed when she was a kid.  The only person in my
Thank you all so much, and a couple of other questions28 Mar 2006 00:04 GMT2
I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to reply to my initial
post and provide me with support and information.  Julie, the info on
your site is great and I've forwarded it on to the rest of the family.
Steve came home on Saturday night and has had no issues (other than
New to all this and have questions27 Mar 2006 04:42 GMT9
My otherwise healthy 33 yo husband has just been diagnosed with
epilepsy. He had been having what we now know were simple partial and
complex partial seizure for a while that we always wrote off as
something else. But last Sunday he was scared and wanted to go to the
temporal lobe seizures and extrapyramidal problems25 Mar 2006 23:31 GMT3
Hi all, ok that sounds complicated. If anyone has psychiatriatic issues
or has heard of EPS then it might explain things a bit better. But
basically I need your opinion on temporal lobe epilepsy and whether it
could mimic EPS.
Dissability Questions25 Mar 2006 08:41 GMT4
Currently, I'm incredibly lucky. I do remote technical support for a
computer company. Thus the problem not driving effects everything
outside of work.
However, these positions are all being OffShored, and we are told to
Episodes of Rage24 Mar 2006 06:19 GMT2
I have had episodes of rage for most of my adult life.  These last
about a day and are preceded by what I guess is called an 'aura' of
extreme well being.  I was diagnosed with TLE about 15 years ago but
have never had any treatments for it.  I take antidepressants.  (When
Seizures involving AVMs22 Mar 2006 19:04 GMT1

Insurance22 Mar 2006 16:34 GMT1
I haven't driven in 2 months, as the doctor reported me to the DMV.
Does the DMV tell your insurance company?
If they do, what happens to our rates?
Are your anticonvulsants causing infertility?20 Mar 2006 19:07 GMT19
My husband takes Epilim (Sodium Valproate), and we have a very difficult
time conceiving?  We were told about 3 years ago, that the reason could be
down to the Steroids that he also has to take every day.
Is anyone else finding that their chances of having a family have been
Video EEG17 Mar 2006 14:23 GMT5
Well, we just got home from 4 day stay at the epilepsy center for video EEG
monitoring. I am so frustrated. Cody had 2 seizures Friday before he could
be hooked up, and then one more Friday night. Then nothing else. So, we
don't have enough info to know if he's a surgical candidate. ...
Vitamin B 6, anyone have experience with this?15 Mar 2006 03:26 GMT7
My son just started Keppra. We also have him on B 6 for mood issues. In
the past it has seemed he had more seizures when taking B 6. He is not
controlled so it is hard to tell. Has anyone used B 6 and have any
advice?

Article in today's Parade Magazine02 Mar 2006 22:54 GMT2
For those of you who get Parade in your Sunday newspaper.. there is an
article on Neil Young, who has epilepsy, among other neurological problems.
He's got a really neat story, and a great attitude.
