I've been on Keppra for about 5 years +, starting with a drug trial at Birmingham University Hospital, UK. with Dr. T. Betts. Currently I'm on 4,000 mg per day, along with 700mg lamictal I'm a pretty big bloke but only 6'1'' and fairly overweight.

I have simple partial seizures and last night I had a weird thing happen. I was sleeping and I woke up hearing a whoosh sound followed by two words. It was over and over. I was fully awake by then but still heard it! I then realized the sound was my husband's breathing

After suffering a mild seizure, my wife's neurologist told her she wasn't to drive for six months. He said he wasn't going to report her to the state but that state law prohibited her driving for six months after having a seizure.

I don't think Dr's realize or anyone else who doesn't have seizures, how those of us who do must basically stop their normal life to go thru a drug change. My neurologist just says so casually how a new drug might improve my quality of life. It is not an easy thing to do and
