Any ideas or advice?30 Nov 2005 16:13 GMT7
Hi.  My name is Pam and I'm the mother of a 36 y.o. with an interesting
history.  He had his first seizure at age 18, broke his shoulder and had to
have it rebuilt.  Since that time he has had five other seizures.  Yes, we
are talking about maybe five yrs apart.  They tend to ...

Baby Jillian....Seizures Changing29 Nov 2005 15:10 GMT1
Most of you know I have posted here a few times. Our daughter is now
almost 6 months old. She has been having various types of seizures since
birth and is on Phenobarbital, which has not yet controlled the
seizures. Over the past couple of weeks she has had seizures that start
Comments on my new epilepsy website please27 Nov 2005 21:42 GMT13
As an epilepsy sufferer myself, I decided to produce my own site in
order to provide support, information and articles on epilepsy for
both fellow sufferers and their carers.
I literally put the site live last night, so as you can see the amount
Just to let you guys know...26 Nov 2005 19:50 GMT2
Maybe you guys remember me somehow. Satch was my nickname; Marco is my real
name. I am based in The Netherlands, Europe. Anyway, my life has changed a
lot since I had my first and last tonic-clonic seizure on Saturday, February
14, 2004. I am still doing well and I am still using ...

I've had 3 seizures, two about 9 years ago and one about 4 months ago.
The last one happened while weaning off of my meds (under the direction of
my neurologist).
I'm back on the meds, and all seems ok. I have something happen about
"Emotionally Based" Seizure?22 Nov 2005 14:24 GMT6
Hello. This is my first post here.
I just had an Ambulatory EEG and the Dr's office just called to say
that when I hit the button to mark the time I had a Seizure the brain
activity was normal but I had a seizure the night before at 9 pm that I
seizure free for 15 years21 Nov 2005 23:15 GMT3
I was wondering if anyone has heard of or has had a similar experience
to mine.  I'm 46 and began having seizures when I was 5 which lasted
until age 30.  I then just stopped having them.  I pretty much had all
types - grand mal, petit mal, psychomotor....

I've been on Keppra for about 5 years +, starting with a drug trial at
Birmingham University Hospital, UK. with Dr. T. Betts.
Currently I'm on 4,000 mg per day, along with 700mg lamictal

Need input on new symptom please19 Nov 2005 21:57 GMT1
I have simple partial seizures and last night I had a weird thing
happen.  I was sleeping and I woke up hearing a whoosh sound followed
by two words.  It was over and over.  I was fully awake by then but
still heard it!  I then realized the sound was my husband's breathing
Driving experience18 Nov 2005 03:12 GMT17
Has anyone ever driven somewhere and not known how they got there -
totally lost like someone dropped you off (but only you were in the
driver seat)?
I was on my way to my mother's house and that was the last thing I
Driving After a Seizure17 Nov 2005 21:44 GMT32
After suffering a mild seizure, my wife's neurologist told her she
wasn't to drive for six months.  He said he wasn't going to report her
to the state but that state law prohibited her driving for six months
after having a seizure.

I am writing this post on behalf of my daughter Emma.  (I always help her
when she uses the net; for obvious reasons).
Changing meds is NOT easy14 Nov 2005 01:43 GMT5
I don't think Dr's realize or anyone else who doesn't have seizures,
how those of us who do must basically stop their normal life to go thru
a drug change. My neurologist just says so casually how a new drug
might improve my quality of life.  It is not an easy thing to do and
Grand mal seizure / Vertigo10 Nov 2005 18:25 GMT2
A friend of mine recently had a grand mal seizure (flopping around,
grinding teeth, ect followed by 1-2 minutes of unresponsive
'paralysis'). The seizure was caused by an all-night cocaine binge, and
he has never had a seizure before. Immediately following the seizure he
