First, let me say thank you to all of you who have been patient and
understanding enough to reply to all of my questions. I've had a few
nutty weeks, but feel a lot better now.
My doctor said that NO seizures showed up during my EEG and that she
Can Tegretol cause additional seizures?28 Aug 2003 05:07 GMT8
My 12 year old daughter Jenny was diagnosed with reflex epilepsy 17 months
ago.  She'd been having it as early as 2nd grade that she can remember but
didn't know that the black-outs and memory loss were abnormal.  When she was
diagnosed we were able to control the epilepsy by ...
STUTTERING during seizure28 Aug 2003 04:58 GMT2
I sometimes stutter when I'm having a seizure. When I do it's this sort
of rolling sound (if that makes sense). I know I'm doing it, but can't
stop it--until it stops itself--and usually lasts a few seconds.
Does this happen to anyone else?

BlankI just became aware of the term SUDEP (see below).
(excerpt from http://www.aesnet.org/currents_pdf/EPC0012.pdf): "Sudden

people with epilepsy.  Both cardiac and pulmonary derangement have been
SITTING still after seizure27 Aug 2003 17:11 GMT3
Today, at school, I had a seizure. I don't know how to classify it yet,

After observing a class that I will be an aide in, I walked out of the

the public23 Aug 2003 03:35 GMT2
you know, its very re-assuring that the public has always been so helpful to
me when i've had a seizure. Numerous times while in the city, or in a mall,
or while riding my bike down by the lake, i've had a complex partial, leg
gives out and fall to the ground... there has always ...
Amalgam fillings and CPS22 Aug 2003 20:01 GMT5
I'm 54yo. A couple of years ago, I was diagnosed with CPS. Consultant was extremely puzzled as to why I should develop this at my age.
He blamed everything from my occasional beer or two when I was younger to having been dropped on my head as a baby!!!!
As a child, I was held down ...

My wife has had epilepsy for 25 years but never experienced before, what
happened today.
We had a violent thunder storm this morning, and after one particularly
lightning discharge she said her head felt fuzzy, as though she was going to
normal eeg's22 Aug 2003 02:29 GMT7
I think I've asked this before but I can't remember. I'm sure you all
understand. I had a couple eeg's that showed I had seizure activity in the
left temporal lobe. I went to see another Dr. who put me in the hospital for
a week long eeg. It came up with nothing. The Dr. made me ...

Would Changes in air pressure cause siezure?21 Aug 2003 06:12 GMT4
Going on a trip to the east coast and was wondering if a change in air pressure could fire off a seizure. I've been living in Western Canada for 20 years where it's about 4000 ft above sea level. Anyone got any info.
