I'm a fairly recent T2 diagnosee, and I've developed peeling and
splitting skin on my hands, especially on the tips of my fingers.  Is
this a diabetes thing?

I am locked into Freestyle meter and strips by insurance, but I suppose
I can afford to pay for any lancets I choose. So, if you have used
lancing systems from several companies, whose hurts the least? :-)

she weighs around 300Lbs and is insulin dependent, has neuropathy, COPD,
is on oxygen, can barely walk, has heart failure too. her sugars run
around 300...but to quote her, "if i am good they run 89" (fasting). she

I have been dealing with "pre-diabetes" for several years now.  I am
50+ years old, male, and have T2 history
in my gene pool.  IOW - classic adult onset T2 picture.

Howdy folks ... I was one of the many on this group that signed up for
one of them free skinny ultra ( I think ) meters with the 4 color choices.
anyone get theirs yet ?

Well guys and gals - those familiar with my dx dramas should know that I saw
the new doctor today (the one who *has an interest* in diabetes).
He knew his stuff compared to the diabetic nurse anyway!  But he talked at
90 miles per hour!!

Seems so simple but so easy to forget.
Angela said she wasn't feeling well.  Thought she felt a little shaky and
was worried that she had diabetes.  She actually has a friend who is type 1.
She didn't know that the reason her friend felt shaky was from a hypo, so I

I ahve noticed that most posts I read on newly diagnosed people, they appear
to be given Metformin automatically.

I have arthritis - not very bad, nut I clearly have it.

It's still going well.  As noted before, I am mostly taking old people's
classes.  One day a week, I do upper body stuff and walk the treadmill,
but mostly I'm in classes for the old folks.
