I was diagnosed with diabetes two months ago during
my first hospitalization for ketoacidosis; today I have received
by mail the results of the GADA test, 5.2 UI/mL (reference

Been Lurking - Worried.29 Sep 2007 01:35 GMT24
This group is great! I am a type 2 diabetic on metformin alone(500 mg
twice per day) . I won't be posting much but I do learn a lot! I went
from 5.5 to 5.8 in 1 year with my A1C. Where is someone's A1C numbers
when a doctor prescribes insulin? Thanks for your replies.
PING Susan: you were right29 Sep 2007 00:53 GMT4
My local library is crap as far as science goes - there's no actual
endocrinology textbooks.  I did find a superifical one for the public
about adrenal, thyroid and reproductive issues.  Having read it, I do
think I may a minor adrenal disorder, which is not surprising given that ...

"... one omer for each person in your tent." -- Moses instructing the
12 tribes of Israel on the amount of food they are to eat on a daily
basis as per the prescription from LORD Almighty GOD (Exodus 16:16).
It is written that after eating this optimal daily amount (one omer)

Stuck in Time28 Sep 2007 08:39 GMT5
It was still dark when my son, 7, whispered in my ear, "Dad, can i go
watch a show?" I grunted yes and rolled over. My wife murmured,
half-asleep, isn't it too early for him to be out of bed? I rolled over
and looked at the clock. 6:15 AM. Not too bad. The later sunrises this

Wound up with a pretty good list28 Sep 2007 00:04 GMT20
Ok! Heck of a good start. If I had seen this list when I was first
diagnoses and told I could never have any "goodies" again, I would
have felt a lot better about it. Apparently, there are lots of things
in the supermarket that might be worthwhile to look at - that may,

2 heads up, a food and a book27 Sep 2007 17:15 GMT25
One is the toasted flax seeds at Trader Joes. You'll find them near the
oatmeal (apologies to anyone not living in the States, but, you can

knew what they really were, though), it's all fiber, they taste great ...
