I recently was diagnosed type II diabetes. Started taking Metformin, doing pretty well. Also have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, very high triglycerides, am a little overweight.

I'm a type 1, for those who haven't heard me spout it off here so many times in the past. On a restricted-carb diet for the past 25 years, currently using shots of Lantus (2x a day) and Humalog (once each meal).

Jeez, this morning (my morning - about noon to you) I was awakened by chest pains. It's happened before, over the years, so I didn't panic. I got up, drank half a diet Pepsi, belched a few time and they went away. But, I've been sore, just below the sternum, all day.

can someone explain to me the differences? for example, i've eaten ice cream, pre-diabetes, and immediately have to take a nap, and could sleep for days. on the other hand, if i've been working in the yard, my sugar will start to drop into the 70's, and i get really jittery

Just spoke with my endo and she said all my bloodwork is consistent with T2. No elevated antibodies of any kind. I didn't get any specific numbers from her...we'll go into more depth when I see her in a couple months, but it looks like I can add T2 after my name.
