What's a reasonable ketone level?13 Aug 2007 18:33 GMT1
Just got some bloodwork back, and it showed ketones were present at
0.5 umol/l. However, there was no reference range posted. Is this
high,
low, or middling? At what level does one become concerned?
Migraines with aura may be a symptom of heart disease13 Aug 2007 15:30 GMT1
The pain caused by migraines with aura is indeed gnawing but there may

Studies show that people suffering from migraines with aura are at
higher risk of heart attacks and strokes than those who do not get
Question on coffee and cinnamon13 Aug 2007 15:07 GMT16
I have read that some studies note the decrease in blood sugar by using
cinnamon and coffee, esp. for type two diabetes. My BIL, a type 2, never
heard of this. I also read conflicts where cinnamon is harmless and yet  may
be toxic if ingested more than 1/2 tsp daily. Any input, ...
Hair Loss Meds and Diabetes13 Aug 2007 14:38 GMT7
Think this has been discussed before.  Hair has been falling out for quite
some time.  Don't know if med or diabetic related.  Last thyroid test ok,
but hormones are off and under lots of stress.  Had a few people say BP meds
(on angiotention 2) can do this, also anti anxiety meds.

Cortisone13 Aug 2007 02:48 GMT9
BG had been running in the 90s but since I got a cortisone shot in my
shoulder it has been difficult to keep it in the 120s.
Has the cortisone made me more resistant or is it causing my liver to put
more sugar in my blood?
For T2, are all sugars bad or just glucose?13 Aug 2007 01:40 GMT39
I am not the greatest chemist out there, but I do remember that foods
contain several kind of "sugars", among them glucose, fructose,
maltose, etc.
However, the diabetic narrative is full of glucose and nothing else.
HOw many types of protien is essential to humans?13 Aug 2007 01:03 GMT4
I hear frequent argument on this subject.  Is there
anyone that is special to diabetes?
CAn the body use any other item to replace
glucose?
What does low blood glucose mean, in the absence of meds - running out of fat?12 Aug 2007 23:45 GMT24
Hi all,
I have my ups and downs of bg (mostly ups), but my fasting usually
is a nice 85. Recently I've had fastings around 70. Does this mean
you're running out of body fat, is the body struggling to
OT/Hey Guys, What's Up?12 Aug 2007 23:08 GMT12
I was just browsing around, and I decided to drop in on my pals in the
UK... wondering what is going on. It does not look like you guys have
been very busy of late. What is going on? Are you having a secret
meeting somewhere?
your input is appreciated12 Aug 2007 23:00 GMT7
Ok I've been type 2 for 21 years.  The creatinine level of my kidneys is up
to 2.0.  I kept asking my Dr. what can I do to slow the progression of
kidney disease down and I am not getting any clear answers.  One big
problem.  I have had some success following Dr. Bernsteins' plan ...
weird number and feeling12 Aug 2007 21:47 GMT15
I had a small portion of oatmeal this morning at about 9 30.  I went out
of the house and got back about 1.  about 1 15, I started having the
shakes and nervous, feeling weak and dizzy.  I tested because I thought
for sure I was low.  What I saw was a shock,  It said 163.  I tested
