Letter from Roche31 Aug 2007 22:21 GMT9
Today I received a letter from Roche concerning Accu Chek products.  I
use all their meters.  A few weeks ago I asked them to replace the
complete meter since it devours batteries in a couple months.  Anybody
ever see Roche send such a letter?

What constitutes a 'spike'?31 Aug 2007 22:05 GMT6
I know spikes are what we are supposed to avoid but exactly how far do blood

My last Ha1c was 5.5 but I have read that this is not a totally reliable
indicator of my control as it will not show up any spikes.
Any similar experiences; advice?31 Aug 2007 21:32 GMT18
My ex-husband and I were divorced in 2001.  In the divorce, I was given full
custody of both of our children, the oldest having Type 1 Diabetes.  During
the course of our marriage, my ex-husband did very little in caring for my
son's diabetes and after our divorce, he became even ...

Medical Underwriting question31 Aug 2007 19:23 GMT3
I was diagnosed as type 2 in June 2007. As part of my retirement, I'm
considering the purchase of an annuity. I might be able to receive
larger payments if diabetes qualifies for "medical underwriting". The
question is - does it generally qualify? Here is the company's

Type 1 post-exercise hypos and the 10s Sprint31 Aug 2007 17:14 GMT1
In doing some research on something else (the way I find
most things) I came across this interesting old (March '06)
report on exercise and hypos in type 1's. It may also have
some relevance to those discussing type 2 liver dumps at the
IGF-1 and Risk of Pancreatic Cancer31 Aug 2007 16:19 GMT3
Hello friends,
Here is a tidbit that I would consider very much ON TOPIC!
In my morning reading and browing, I came across some information
about an interesting study that suggests a relationship between IGF-1

Respite31 Aug 2007 13:24 GMT9
My neighbors have earned a respite tonight although, since they sleep
through all my shenanigans, they don't realize it. I'm going to skip down to
the local Applebee's around ten thirty, or so, and have dinner there. It
will be fun picking through the menu for things I can eat. ...
Wow, liver dump R me!31 Aug 2007 12:27 GMT36
Today, the kids and I have been at a karate festival. 6 hours'
training - and we get to do it again tomorrow <whimper>...
I have been liver dumping all over the place, and I'd appreciate some
advice on how to handle tomorrow, or Monday's morning session. This is
