This month I found an article in Cell Metabolism.
There is a non-technical editorial which reads very easy at page 323 :

ok, just switched from Actos 30mg & Metformin 500mg to Metformin 500mg BID.
The weight gain/fluid retention from the Actos was giving me problems.
