Post Prandial Peaks22 May 2007 13:27 GMT68
I was challenged on the ADA forum to back up my promotion of
one-hour post-prandial blood glucose tests to review a type
2's menu.
In fact, while I do believe newbies should test at one hour

There is a birthday party coming up in my family, and my considerate
family members are trying to find some sort of dessert I can eat.
(I've found that it makes them uncomfortable to eat dessert in front
of me, even though I really don't care.)  Basically, I've just stayed

Can water cause/medediate Hyperglycemia/Insulin resistance?22 May 2007 09:49 GMT3
Can water cause/medediate Insulin resistance orienting persistent
Hyperglycemia?
It may look much odd, but I am getting some relevancy. True reasoning
to such looks quite simple. Can you think deeply and dynamcally and
T2 diabetes and weight gain22 May 2007 06:44 GMT1
I heard a fantastic analogy on diabetic weight gain yesterday from as nurse.
If you look at the blood stream as a highway,
we load trucks full of food and send them down the highway to the towns
and cities

Switching from Metformin to Actos22 May 2007 02:58 GMT24
Curious if anyone here has done this switch from
Metformin (only) to Actos (only).  There was a
very enlightening thread here last week about
fatigue as a side effect of Metformin. I've

Diabetes almost ruined my life22 May 2007 02:25 GMT5
Wow, Its great to see that there are groups out here such as this,
where diabetes sufferers can come and get the help and support
they need. People who've never experienced diabetes just can't
relate to what we have and are going through. I have been to the
my first injection22 May 2007 01:46 GMT15
I just gave myself my first injection.  Physically it was quite easy,
no pain.  Mentally I'm shaking like a leaf.  I know I'm probably being

few hours to make sure I'm still alive.  :-)
Very Tired (Actos, Metformin)22 May 2007 01:45 GMT21
Have been seeing info about fatigue on Actos and Metformin.  I have been on
both meds for about 2 months.  The last couple of weeks I have been more
tired than usual...like I have to lay down right then.  I usually try to
just rest a little while and then I feel much better.  Do the ...

insulin and (water??) weight gain21 May 2007 23:32 GMT6
I started using insulin day before yesterday.  I'm sure I'll get my
terms wrong here, but I take 25 units of Lantus before bed and 10
units Novolog before every meal.  Before starting I had a nice meeting
with a diabetic nurse to learn how to use the pens, etc.
Symptoms of Low BG21 May 2007 23:15 GMT14
Still having a few episodes of (for me) low BG.  Seems the biggest
warning I get is a feeling in my legs that is simular to a mild Pins &
Needles kinda thing.
Does this sound typical?
