Fluxuating Blood Sugar06 Apr 2007 00:24 GMT9
I have a relatively new One Touch Ultra brand blood glucose meter. In
the past six months, I have steadily decreased my intake of sugar and,
most recently, carbs. For the past two weeks, my sugar intake has been
almost non-existent. I am also taking Avandia (two pills daily).

Junk Food Update - Breads05 Apr 2007 16:12 GMT1
We talked about normal breads, as opposed to special low-carb items. There
are 3 new brands listed in the bread section of the site - normal whole
wheat breads and still under 10 carbs per serving but not marketed as low

Current frustration (or, It's a Journey)05 Apr 2007 14:25 GMT32
Since first diagnosed in 2001 my control had been pretty good and
relatively easy.  Late last year all that started to change.  My usual
meds and routines didn't seem to be working anymore.  I had gotten lazy
in the eating part, and I know that's at least part of it, if not most.

Newbie - Trouble with Control05 Apr 2007 05:20 GMT2
I am not considered diabetic, but my dr. put me on metformin 500 mg.
after an A1C of 5.9. This was an increase from last year - when it was
5.1. I have lost weight - I'm now "just" 30lbs overweight and my waist
is 32 in (I am a pear-shape). I have been on metformin for a month. I
