I am not considered diabetic, but my dr. put me on metformin 500 mg. after an A1C of 5.9. This was an increase from last year - when it was 5.1. I have lost weight - I'm now "just" 30lbs overweight and my waist is 32 in (I am a pear-shape). I have been on metformin for a month. I

I need some genuine advice here please !! After a few weeks of a nasty chest infection that wasnt responding to the anitibiotics I have on my repeat prescription I went to the GP Thursday lunch time !!

Ha..... I just baked some more Kursteaz CarbSimple Muffin Mix. If you ever try it, look at the bottom of the directions where it says, "For Quick Bread." Try it that way instead of like muffins. I put some sugar free jelly on a piece of it. Sure satisfies the cravings.

I received my copy ofDiabetews Forecast today and was I shocked at what I read. It said that the ADA recommends testing two hours after the beginning of a meal and that anything under 180 is fine. I wouldnt have believed it if I didnt read it with my own eyes.

First: was diagnosed T2 in April 05 with a blood glucode of 651 in the doctor's office. I have been on Metformin 850mg x 2 since, and A1c's have been in the high 5's ever since '05. I test,test,test--thanks to you good people--and rarely exceed the 1hr/2hr recommended limits.

I found the Wonder Lite White Bread at Walmart. I bought it. Just got home and tried a slice. It has the good ole white bread look and texture but still has a hint of fake...haha. All in all, pretty good though. Advertises 9g of carbs. Actually has 18 with various subtractions ...
