Just wondering how you all found out you had diabetes in the first place. Was it a "classic" symptom like excessive thirst/frequent urination, or something else? For me, my vision became blurred...just about over night. Thought it was a side effect to my new blood pressure ...

Is there a difference between Symlin and Byetta? I was on the Symlin but it did not do anything to help me so the nurse took me off it but if Byetta is different I will bring this up to her even if I have to go in sooner than expected.

I've been doing my testing for the last couple days to figure out what I can and cannot eat. I did my lunch and checked my +1 and +2 numbers. It was 160 and then 98. An hour after my +2 I had a salad (1 1/2 cup iceburg) with some real bacon

I am asking because I was diagnosed as being borderline for type 2...my Mom had it..I have a friend who takes insulin shots and I sit for a man who takes 4 a day... he is in bad shape...my question is a two parter..

Yesterday after I ate I got on the treadmill and walked for 20 min. I didn't feel bad at all. When I woke at 5AM and took my FBS. It was 106. I found that to be good according to alt-support-diabetes. I decided to have a cup of coffee w/Splenda and then a bananna on the train.
