Structure to our meal21 Mar 2007 22:34 GMT19
Reading in other newsgroups etc it seems in the US diabetics are given some
kind of exchange system for their meals (I say exchange as I am not sure
what to call it) When I was diagnosed I was sent home and told to eat lots
of brown pasta, brown rice, wholemeal bread fruit and ...
Steroid reduction - scared21 Mar 2007 21:53 GMT11
Having read letters from Billie and resultant discussion of steroid
reduction I am wondering what is ahead of me. (Blessings on you Billie).
Tapering: I am on Prednisone and went down from 15mgs to 12.5mgs today
after waiting 2 weeks as directed by specialist in rheumatology. I ...
Giving Advice21 Mar 2007 21:13 GMT43
My feeling about giving advice to diabetics is different than other
peoples.  I will only give advice based on my personal experiences.  I
would never tell anyone what to do because if something were to go
amiss, the guilt would be overwhelming to me.  I can say what I would do

Everyone thinks I would do better if I ate lunch at school so I
tried it today. I knew they were having domino pizza so I looked up 2
slices it was 75 carbs. At lunch time I got 2 slices and and a bottle
of water than took it to the nurses office so I could inject. The door

OT(almost) - A Tribute21 Mar 2007 03:58 GMT14
As I've posted before, in 1994 I suffered a fairly severe ankle injury, one
which resulted in me having ever increasing difficulty in walking.
By some good grace I found from the outset that I could ride a bicycle with
no discomfort of any sort, and I took to riding not only as an ...
meter or software that will work on VISTA21 Mar 2007 03:38 GMT11
As I have previously posted I purchased a PC in order to run my One
Touch software, which was working, albeit slowly on my Virtual PC.
The laptop arrived with VISTA installed. Though I was able to install
the One Touch Software it will not recognize my meter. I have tried

T2's commenting on T1's21 Mar 2007 01:52 GMT38
I'm often critcized in here because I allegedly give advice to T2's on
what they should eat.  What I really do is tell them not to just
follow blindly what they read in here regarding what a T2 should or
should not eat.  They should consider things like oatmeal and whole
What do you do when...20 Mar 2007 23:07 GMT8
...you wake up at about 5.30 AM, ragingly hungry and sweating like
anything, almost blazing with energy, but then suddenly fall asleep
again halfway through getting dressed in order to go downstairs, do a

spring break20 Mar 2007 22:58 GMT17
Spring break is coming up soon and my friends are going to LA for a
week. They're going to Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm and Universal
Studios. I can't decide if I should to with them or not because I am
concerned with my condition. It would be hard for me with they
Hunger and Eating?20 Mar 2007 22:09 GMT13
"Hunger and Eating Based on Biology
Many theories of hunger are historically discussed from the biological
component. Cannon and Washburn (as cited in Coon, 1995) came up with
the stomach contraction theory which states that we know we are hungry
