Doctors appointment today04 Mar 2007 16:29 GMT17
Well I met up with my diabetes specialist at the surgery today and was
really pleased. We discussed a lot of things and I got back some of the
results from the tests I've had.
Looks like I'm type 2 but thanks to the information and links I've got here
Humalog Cartridge in OptiClik Pen04 Mar 2007 15:37 GMT6
Would anyone know if you can use a humalog cartridge in the OptiClik
pen?  The OptiClik pen is made for a lantus cartridge.  The Aventis
(Lantus) and Lilly (Humalog) reps say "no", but they're supposed to say
"no".  I thought it would be very convenient to use one pen and
Carb Reactions04 Mar 2007 15:35 GMT20
I thought a carb is a carb and they would react the same. Funny thing
- I eat one half of 1 Otis Spunkmier muffin (13g carb) and my sugar
goes to 155, yet I can eat a whole bag of popcorn which says there are
lots more carbs than the muffin and I wind up with a sugar reading of
Higher bg after Exercise04 Mar 2007 15:31 GMT17
Many people in mhd and asd over the years have posted concern over their bg
going UP instead of down when exercising. Although I have found that
exercise is understandably an excellent way at lowering pp bg, I have also
often experienced the opposite effect. here's my insight, ...
Progress with Lantus and Novolog Rapid04 Mar 2007 13:37 GMT26
Ever since I was diagnosed, despite a HbA1c which has always been below 7, I
have always had a high fbg and high post prandials at the one hour mark. The
fbgs eventually were reaching numbers as high as 180. This is despite
introducing a very severe exercise routine when I ...
Public want food 'traffic lights'04 Mar 2007 08:38 GMT11
"The public overwhelmingly support "traffic light" food-labelling rather
than the system adopted by much of the food industry, a survey suggests.
The Netmums website surveyed more than 17,000 parents, and found 80% backed
traffic lights.

I am type 2, diagnosed Fed 2006.
I have been taking Glimpiride (Amaryl) and Metformin since.
My major problem is weight.  I have weak knees which make any movement
painful.
Diabetes and Provera03 Mar 2007 22:59 GMT9
I'm hoping I can get some first hand advice. Are there any ladies here
who take or have taken Provera (progesterone)?
My ob/gyn just prescribed it for me for three months (for a problem
unrelated to diabetes) and I asked him point blank if there was any
Creating effective nutrition plans to help you reach your physique goals03 Mar 2007 22:55 GMT1
You have surely wasted hours upon hours attempting to create meal
guidelines for yourself, only to find the plans need to be tweaked so
you continue to progress toward your goals. And then, you hit another
plateau-again, more calculations and hours wasted punching numbers. We
