My Glucotrol recently stopped working for me so I'll need to ask
doctor to put me on something else. (Does Glucotrol have a limited
shelf life after which it becomes old and ineffective?)
Can't take Glucophage because it caused me severe abdominal cramps

Hi all.  Well, I was swamped at work today--my side-kick called out, so
I had to do all the animal care myself, and I had a field trip come in,
that took up some time too. Plus, I had to leave early to get my cat
scan.  I hope something good comes from that.  I didn't test after

Well, I was at my first diabetic clinic appointment today, on the whole it
was really a good experience, however, I did get some advice though that I'm
unsure how to take.
Eyes - absolutely fine, no signs of any damage, retinas are looking good :-)

I'm a (very) recently diagnosed 37yr old diabetic (don't even know to what
extent yet! Only found out about 2 weeks ago) living in NW England - GP has
prescribed 2 x 500mg Metformin to start with plus Ramipiril (currently

Would someone please explain to me why this happens:
   This morning I got up and measured my BG and got a reading of 7.0
mmol/L (126 mg/dL). Gave myself 6 HL and 4 N (HL = Humalog, N =
Humulin N) to cover my breakfast (flavoured porridge, ~35g of carbs).

I have never counted the carbs in carrots, I considered them a good
snack and often eat them raw and cooked.
My husband likes them cooked with just some butter added at the end of
cooking. He will eat about the equivalent of 4 (or more) medium
