Observations02 Dec 2006 17:57 GMT1
Nothing will be solved by speculation and
pushy bull. We know so l,ittle about diabetes.
Personally, I have been impressed by my ignorance.
We are so lax with education and research.
Living with Insulin02 Dec 2006 17:07 GMT8
My mum was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a couple of years ago and has
been on metformin for a while. I'm not sure of the dose.
However, the other week she was told by the doctor that the tablets
were not controlling it well enough and she should go on to insulin.
dry mouth and thirst at night02 Dec 2006 13:10 GMT12
Lately, at night while I'm trying to sleep, my mouth gets incredibly
dry.  Drinking water doesn't really seem to help much.
Anybody know anything about this?  IS it from the diabetes?  The meds
I'm taking.

Byetta Insurance02 Dec 2006 05:33 GMT9
Has anyone had problems with Anthem paying for Byetta?  I was told today it is
off formulary and "step treatment non-compliant".  The agent did say maybe my
endo could call in and get them to cover it, but that strikes me as odd.  I have
been on Metformin and Starlix for years.  ...
The Original Mediterranean Diet for Weight loss02 Dec 2006 00:55 GMT2
Well, let me quickly relate to my own experience where I learned that
when you're busy with day to day things or preoccupied with family or
friends, your weight can sometimes creep up on you without you
noticing. That is, until you realize your clothes don't fit as they
Dreamfields is just pasta, isnt it????01 Dec 2006 23:10 GMT30

Insulin vs Heart Attacks and Strokes01 Dec 2006 22:01 GMT14
Biggs has - for how many years? - asserted that the UKPDS (United Kingdom
Prospective Diabetes Study) established the use/efficacy of insulin in
reducing mortality in Type 2 diabetics, throwing around numbers like 16%.
Note that "microvascular" refers mainly to such things as eye ...
Had to take care of family01 Dec 2006 21:33 GMT46
Some of you know that my foster mother was diagnosed with type 2 and
then with breast cancer.  She never posted here.  Though I did set her
machine up so she could if she ever chose to.  She did however read
here.
Insulin Resistance, Triglycerides, and Some Other Lipid Considerations01 Dec 2006 21:24 GMT4
It has been previously mentioned that the triglyceride to high density
lipid ratio is a rough measure of insulin resistance. The all of the
components for computing the homeostasis model assessment-estimated
insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) are not usually done by general practice

Hi, have not posted for ages..
My son had a huge  seizure the other day and his levels were low, but only
3.5 mml. They say that this is not really low enough to cause a seizure. Any
ideas? He has been in good heatlh until recently and has been getting head

A friend of mine gave me a link for a brand new OneTouch Ultra2 meter and it
is really nice. I got mine today.

Hello friends,
Some of the recent posts on here have started me thinking in a
tangential way about the connection between diabetes, Mg2, and ETOH
consumption.
