I have a bad back and I love to use a heating pad to relax the muscles. But I have been told never use heat, that it is bad for diabetics. There are even warning signs for people who like electric blankets not to use if you are diabetic. Can anyone tell me if this is true and ...

My endo is suggesting I might want to try Byetta. It worries me because the drug is so new. A doctor put my younger sister on a diet drug a few years ago that turned out to be really bad for the heart. It was pulled from use but Sis now has heart problems because of it.
