After 1 month of self testing (about 100 total pricks), I had a single high
reading of 149, two of 139 and the remainder never cracking 130. These were
all 2hr post meal tests. My average was 111. Of the fasting readings, my
highest was 119 and my average was 109.

Good news!! My eye dr does not want to see me anymore!!14 Dec 2006 18:03 GMT10
The irony with health care is this: People get sick/illnesses. Need drs. Need
medications. Drs. & pharmaceutical companies need patients, need sick patients
specifically, otherwise they do not make money. Notice all of the commercials
to "self" diagose yourself for certain pills?
Australians discover walnuts14 Dec 2006 17:50 GMT6
G'day G'day Folks,
I'm often fascinated with the headlines adopted for various studies.
One I came across had the following headline,
"Walnut advice helps diabetics protect their hearts"

glycotoxin restriction extends rodent lifespan14 Dec 2006 07:05 GMT11
[Feed restriction has extended lifespan in a wide variety of short lived
animal species. It had been assumed that the toxic effect of ad-libitum
feed consumption was due to excess calories. In the last several years
this assumption has been proven to be false. In nematodes, the ...
Off We Go14 Dec 2006 04:20 GMT7
Went to the podiatrist this morning and all is fine except that damn
nail fungus still exists on one toe after three long years of fighting
the damn thing.  Sure is persistent.  He wanted me back in 3 months,
and I said 7 months is better than 3 months since there is no real
Problems with my GP...14 Dec 2006 00:07 GMT14
I'm having a problem with my GP, and I'd like some advice.  It sounds
like he is trying to hold my repeat prescriptions for insulin and
syringes (etc.) hostage to his views of what my treatment regime should
be.  Can he legally do this?  If he decides to throw me off his list,
Getting my numbers back under control14 Dec 2006 00:01 GMT5
When I first discovered I had diabetes about 4 years ago I managed to get my
numbers to around the 5 to 6.5 mark.  However  since then for various
reasons I 'lost control'  I have tried getting my numbers back down again
following various 'diets' SW...WW....Low fat.....you name ...
Free online nutrition book13 Dec 2006 23:24 GMT1
This previously commercial bookstore book is now being provided by the
author for free.  I have been getting his weekly newsletter, also for
free, for years.  His nutritional advice is quite diabetic safe and all
based on recent research.  If one had to pick one area of nutrition
War on Postprandial spikes13 Dec 2006 23:17 GMT1
This article titled "Blunting After-Meal Glucose Spikes
by Linda Wasmer Andrews" would make good reading for newbie's who, together
with their doctor, will be deciding on their treatment. The article address

Lidocaine Patch for Neuropathy13 Dec 2006 20:22 GMT9
My doctor just gave me a few patched to try for neuropathy effecting
the bottom of my feet. He didn't tell me where to put them and I didn't
think to ask. Somewhere, in my adled little brain, I pictured them
around my ankles. Now that I'm actually going to apply one, that seems
Love thy diabetic neighbour -- f**k thy arrogant self-promoting "Christian"13 Dec 2006 19:50 GMT4
I would suggest that any newbies killfile:
* Andrew B. Chung -- I've never seen him post anything but wildly OT
religious crap, usually hypocritically accusing others of
"name-calling" (I suppose name-calling is somehow OK if you have YVWH
