Xray of Insulin16 Nov 2006 20:13 GMT3
I've posted here before on occasion and can't remember if this was
discussed. I will be traveling by plane in a few days and will have to be x
ray screened as we all know, but I've heard it's not recommended for me to
let all my insulin (Pens and Vials) go thru the x-ray machine ...
Quick USA air travel question with insulin16 Nov 2006 18:41 GMT3
I've read the TSA web site and don't understand the latest ... rules
for packing.  In particular I'm not sure what to do with my insulin
for the trip.  Does the insulin need to be a 1 gallon baggie?
I've not flown since the no-liquid ban.  My usual procedure is to

Microalbumin Question16 Nov 2006 03:29 GMT10
I am a Type II diabetic, for about 25 years. 78 YO male. BG is pretty well
under control with Metformin.
In the past, my annual microalbumin test always came back as "negative". The
last test came back, showing 5.8 mg/L. No figures were shown for a

I got my Meter today :)15 Nov 2006 17:40 GMT10
Well, my meter arrived. I got the One touch ultra 2. Only took me a few
minutes to figure out how to use it. So, my results was 104 mg/dl. This
was before a meal and a few hours after my workout. Thought I would
recheck it to make sure and the 2nd test was 102 mg/dl. I called a

from AP) at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15625548/ .
Since I have little faith in syndicated news sources, I found an
abstract of the actual article to be published tomorrow in the NEJM:
Free Meter & supplies from insurance15 Nov 2006 14:19 GMT4
I called my insurance company to find out if they offered a meter.
Turns out they also give me the lancets and strips for free. I am not
sure for how long, but the plan I am on has extra coverage for
prescriptions. I currently have Blue Cross PPO with prescription drug.
