Long vs short needle?27 Oct 2006 13:57 GMT8
270lb, 55yrs, with most fat in the gut.     Have used both long and short
sharps along the stomach.   I suspect the short is not clearing a zone of
tissue near the surface causing my 60 unit dose to "burn" as it backs up in
the tissue before slowly disbursing.    Don't recall ...

Low cholesterol raises risk of death from stroke27 Oct 2006 02:12 GMT3
The really points to why the low lipid targets promoted by the statin
manufacturers for diabetics and others without ANY proof that they
confer benefits should be ignored, in favor of bg and lipid ratio
blood-sugar vs. blood-pressure27 Oct 2006 01:53 GMT5
I happened to be going low (near 60) when walking by
a blood pressure tester in the pharmacy.  I was stunned to see
my blood pressure at 170/130.
Is it a fact that blood pressure shoots up when blood sugar
Software to count carbs and fats?27 Oct 2006 00:47 GMT11
Hi all;
I'm still a newbie (2 days).
Apparently, I need to track my carb and fat intake  closely.  I can
read the food packages well enough, and adjust for portions.  But how
Really Stupid Question26 Oct 2006 21:35 GMT19
I annoy every doctor with questions. So many of them. But this is one I
can't get an answer to. Can you tell how long diabetes may have been a
health factor? Simply, how long have yo been diabetic? Is there a way to
assess that? Would long term unidiagnosed diabetes, have anything

FWIW byetta experience26 Oct 2006 20:22 GMT6
I had an odd experience yesterday evening and am trying to sort out
what happened.  Yesterday was an unusual day for me in that I injected
10 mcg around 8 am, skipped breakfast, and then around 10 had a 10 oz
nonfat mocha (yes, hell of a lot of fast acting carbs).  Around 1:30 I

She was better yesterday. And after talking to her incredible surgeon,
we don't think they will do another proceedure, for now, maybe not
again.                              Medically, she is on new meds, and
we will have wound care to do at home, which I will be trained to do.
Freestyle Flash question26 Oct 2006 16:31 GMT10
I just got a Freestyle Flash today and have a question. After I set it
up, I attempted to turn it off ... I can't figure out how. And it
doesn't seem to turn off itself. Does it turn off, or stay in clock
mode all the time?
Metformin - slow release type.26 Oct 2006 15:31 GMT9
Evening all,
Not been active on here for a while but nice to see most of the old names
are still about - and some new ones which is good of course!
Anyway, to the point. My last A1c had gone up from 6.1 to 7 (bugger) so
