Hospital update05 Oct 2006 15:55 GMT8
I've been in the hospital for a week now. I had thought the excitement of
almost certain motherhood would have worn off by now but it hasn't. They

Krispy Kremes every time he comes. The nurses say I am ...
question about type 205 Oct 2006 13:44 GMT30
Hi all, I'm a bit confused about something and I was wondering if anyone's
experienced something similar or if you have any ideas as to what's going
on.
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes just over a year ago. I'm not on
Banned in Canada UltraSmart?05 Oct 2006 03:44 GMT2
It doesn't really matter because I am only using it in the U.S. with
U.S. doctors and nurses but when I try changing my One Touch
UltraSmart from mg/dl to mmol/l, it STILL gives test results in mg/dl.
I guess if you really want mmol/l you could just divide by
Back in a week (hopefully)05 Oct 2006 03:10 GMT19
I go into the hospital Thursday the 5th to remove the tumor somewhere
in the left kidney. ( Wouldn't you know the darn leftists would get
me!)  Pre-op directions seem clear and concise.  Dr N (diabetes) says
to take my own medications along in their original package.  Hospital

A situation in medicine04 Oct 2006 20:48 GMT6
I recently had a 911 run.  The bill for it is
now up to #875.   It used to be around $200.

What time do you take your Metformin?04 Oct 2006 20:30 GMT11
I do twice a day ... usually 6 AM and 7:30 - 8:30 PM.  I started
doing this and haven't really thought about it until now ... I
seem to be under control but am open to ideas about how
a different time frame might be more beneficial.

Some of these selfish people will take advantage
of their privileged position to reap unfair gains..
They will verbally defend their actions adamantly.
Quest Diagnostics - price gouging04 Oct 2006 19:07 GMT12
I've experienced a case of Quest Diagnostic Lab ripping insurance
companies off big time.  I just made a $190 mistake, and thought I'd
share it with everyone, with a hope of giving someone the option of
selecting an alternate diagnostic company (or at least, making sure you

Diabetes rates are on the rise, there's no question about that.  But
there is constantly ongoing research to help treat (and hopefully one
day cure) both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Here is an article about the proposed Metformin Gum that is being
