Been diabetic for 5 years now - taking AvandaMet (2000mg daily) ... but I just cannot drink any alcohol at all ... I'm not by any means a heavy drinker - maybe a glass or two per month - usually on a social event / meal with the family type thing.

Try out this site. It has a free download for keeping rack of your daily diabetic stuff like your sugar levels and then you can print them off for your Doctor. I use it and it is a good tool to keep me on track. Tell Jos that the CNA sent you. Garry

This morning my fbg was only 100 mg/dL. (yay) I wonder if that's because I also took a walk before bed last night. Since I started this wine & nut regimen a few days ago, the highest it's been is 111. Except for that day, it's all been under 110.

Had a doctor tell me blood sugar should peak after 2 hours and back to normal after 4 hours. I had been sure it was 1 hour and 2 hours. any clarification would help. my sugar peaks around 210 or 220 at 2 hours on a moderate meal.
