I'm looking to purchase a medium priced glucometer to do my own tests. The doctor ignores my exhaustion and some other concerns because fasting blood sugar is normal - therefore, I want to check this out for myself.

How long is it safe to use Humulin R insulin after opening it? I am on a sliding scale and I have been using the same vial of insulin for about a year. I store it in a small refrigerator and it never gets too hot of too cold.

I don't actually have diabetes according to my fasting blood sugar. However, over the course of about 15 years, I have had two or three 5 hour glucose tolerance tests. Each test revealed some "abnormality" between the 2nd and 3rd hour.

Terry, my husband, has had sharp chest pains 3 times during sex. The first 2 times we thought it was indigestion but the third time he was sure it was something else, probably his heart. He went to the doctor 2 weeks ago and has had many tests, EKG's, Echoes etc.
