Weird Lantus problem?28 Aug 2006 04:06 GMT18
One week ago my endo switched me from Byetta to Lantus.  They Byetta was
controlling after-meal spikes, but did little or nothing on my dawn effect
(appx 140-150), which he thinks is causing my creep up in A1c (Before Byetta
7.1; then 6.5 with Byetta; creeping up to 6.8).
Advised routine - day 128 Aug 2006 02:43 GMT9
On the good advice of this group, I have decided to start getting my
wild schedules into a routine.  I put several items on my 'need to
accomplish' list after reading what all of you had to say with this
being the most difficult for me.

she said I did not have it; that RLS is a daily problem. Whereas i

Type II diabetes, is it an autoimmune disease28 Aug 2006 00:33 GMT8
I know that type 1 is an autoimmune disease.  The reason I ask is that I
have a friend in the hospital,  It is a long story that I wont go into.
She has now gotten bacterial meningitis which is being treated with
heavy antibiotics.  Today I learn she has a staph infection.
monitor question - simultaneous readings - different27 Aug 2006 22:18 GMT22
I'm not diabetic - am pre-diabetic with a reading of 103. Exercise a
lot, diet is low glycemic, take a few helpful supplements. Decided I
needed to take more action and bought a cardiochek monitor from PTS.

hypo while driving27 Aug 2006 20:56 GMT99
I got in a big argument this morning about my hair. I want to get it
cut but my hubby loves it long and don't want it cut. It goes all the
way down my back and bounces off my butt. I got all mad and left the
house telling him I was going to the salon to get it cut.

Random Blood Glucose Test >200 mg/dl27 Aug 2006 19:12 GMT8
Here's an interesting nugget of info:
Diabetes is not diagnosed on a Random Blood Glucose test until two
successive readings over 200 mg/dl.
An RBG is taken randomly without regard to when the subject last ate.

Leaving the country and chaning my email, yes this is an odd crosspost27 Aug 2006 13:41 GMT1
I'm sending this to a bunch of newsgroups I'm very active on, with
followups set to the social newsgroup misc.health.diabetes. I'm moving
