Mail-order pharmacies and supplies21 Jul 2006 22:47 GMT15
I've had a couple different insurance companies in the past few years
that make it impossible to get more than 30 days supply of anything
(insulin, test strips, pills, whatever) at the local pharmacy. But I
can get 90 days supply by mail-order.
Study: Exercise improves IR but not BG Control21 Jul 2006 20:33 GMT29
From http://www.diabetesincontrol.com
This study (printed below) compared groups of "mild" type 2s exercising
with and without Acarbose (Precose). What's interesting is the finding
that in the group not taking the drug, exercise alone, while it improved
Bumex vs Glucose Readings21 Jul 2006 19:11 GMT1
I recently had to be removed from taking Lasix(due to fluid build-up)
because I started to loose my balance - my heart doctor put me on
bumex(0.5mg) once/day - I take it in the am before breakfast but have
noticed that my glucose readings after breakfast fall around 280 to 310,
Low Sodium Cottage Cheese21 Jul 2006 19:10 GMT42
Would anyone have any idea on where to find this in Australia? The

Low testosterone21 Jul 2006 17:08 GMT1
Here's a new website for TESTIM testosterone gel. You can learn about
low testosterone and request a free information kit that includes a $25
coupon for TESTIM as well as a brochure about Low T. Have a look.

Off the metformin21 Jul 2006 15:17 GMT37
Had a chat with the quack today, and we decided the Metformin was OTT. So
I'm off the stuff now! Wish me luck. The quack said that sometimes diabetes
can get much worse when people go off it - presumably because it's been
hiding some progression. We might argue about when to go ...
Does anyone have a better word than OBESITY?21 Jul 2006 12:36 GMT40
Does anyone have a better word than OBESITY?
It sounds so horrible and has awful connotations - anyone with any more
positive word for the condition where "fathappens"???? If so - post
your thoughts here or at www.fathappens.com

A1c - too low is as bad?21 Jul 2006 01:37 GMT15
Went off to see the consultant today, had a good chat but one thing she
mentioned was that she didn't want to see my A1c going any lower (it is
currently at 6.0).
Her reasoning was that if it did go lower, when I do go onto insulin, it

Diabetes Computer Log for Mac20 Jul 2006 23:12 GMT1
I know how hard it is for us Mac users to find diabetes software.
I found this today, it's not the kind you connect to a meter, but a log
book to keep your records.
It's freeware, but they do request a donation to a diabetes org.  And
