A brief history 4 years ago aged 36 I was diagnosed Diabletic (Type 2). At just short of 20 st diet and exercise was the first suggestion / treatment. All went well but finished up on medication also. I now find myself after 2 half marathons

Normally, my FBG is 100 or less. Suppertime PP-2hours is usually over 160; but down 50 points 2 hours after that. I take 500mg Metformin some time after supper (as well as morning), with my vitamins. I inject the 12 u Lantus just before bedtime.

I just noticed something else on my lab tests that I had never seen before - it appears that my GFR has fallen dramatically in the last three months. It's always been normal - 91 I think was my last test - but now its 81.

Didn't think I'd be doing it but I'm eating oatmeal. No, not cooked oatmeal but uncooked in very small portions (1/4 cup) with chopped walnuts, cinnamon, and sugar-free pancake syrup. It's yummy. No foolin'.
