I got a medical education in a box from these nice people today - thanks
again to whoever it was who recommended them. They will send out their
lovely lectures to anyone who asks for them, even those of us who are in
darkest Suffolk : )

HI I am new to this chat or blog or whatever.  Anyway I started a new
website to help people with diabetes.  It is www.yourdiabeticguide.com
.  I have had typ1 diabetes 1 for 34 years since 1972 when we had no
clue what we were doing in comparison to today.  Yet I still notice a
Travel Insurance04 Jul 2006 17:19 GMT9

Does anyone have any recommendations for travel insurance? I'm going to
be travelling to Canada in August and don't want to be without

Blood Pressure04 Jul 2006 14:11 GMT10
My latest lipid numbers were 4.0 and 1.2, pretty good thought I.
My BP is usually in the 140s over 80s, which has been fairly constant
for some time also since I got the hang of this dietary stuff.
Hiowever the routine BP taken at the time of the blood test was 10 -

Hi Everybody. I've have lurked for 3 years and have found this group to be
very helpful so I want to add my own experience.
I am using a fake name. I have some of you (those less than civil) in my
filter list so I may not see replies from other than polite people.
Another Reason to Quit Smoking.....A cautionary tale04 Jul 2006 13:15 GMT35
Got back from the Ophthalmologist's the other day. She said, "First
the good news", "Your vision hasn't gotten any worse. Oh happy day!
(note sarcasm) "Now the bad news.." ."You have the beginnings of
cataracts in both eyes". That doesn't freak me out too much, as I just
The five year game04 Jul 2006 11:56 GMT2
I have lived with diabetes through  six five year
periods.   Every time there is a fund drive they
say "in five years".
I think the only way to change this is to somehow
Amaryl Experiment04 Jul 2006 08:35 GMT26
Leaving no stone unturned, I decided to try a very small dose of Amaryl
after seeing posted on the Exeter MODY site what the correct dose would
be for someone with the kind of MODY it looks like I might have. (1/4 of
the normal starting dose.)
Byetta04 Jul 2006 05:40 GMT1
Would anyone share your experiences with byetta.  I have had a good deal of
struggle getting past the stomach upset (severe) but I seemed to have made
it.  In four pens I have had two that I feel did not function properly.  The
dose was not delivered, the pen did not come back to ...

Winter Mellon04 Jul 2006 00:26 GMT6
I was reading an advertisement on Bitter Mellon. I guess it's suppose
to give diabetics engergy. It's a harmless food as the Chinese eat it
as food, but I've seen it advertised in suplement form. Anyone try it?
Does it really help with giving energy?
Medicare D04 Jul 2006 00:25 GMT26
I signed up for Medicare D on about midnight the day before the options
lapsed.  Took a Blue Cross Senior Citizen plan - what the heck, I

I just filled 3 prescriptions at SavOn/CVS, all 30 days. First figure
