I should have known this23 Jun 2006 00:32 GMT23
A diabetic cousin of mine who underwent a kidney transplant operation (his
brother donated the kidney) said something memorable: "I'm so glad to be
able to pee again."
He is truly happy and grateful to his brother, and we're all praying that he

A recent study (it was published last year but they recently made
fulltext access to it free) show for coronary patients:
The influence of (HDL + triglycerides +  apolipoprotein A1, and LDL
particle diameter) significantly predicted both atherosclerosis (CAD)
I think I did something stupid.22 Jun 2006 20:40 GMT24
While I like water, and I drink 2 to 3 liters of it a day, I like
something different with a meal now and then.  I kicked the caffeine
habit after my diagnosis so I limit TaB (my favorite diet soda) to 2

It is the makers right but they have chosen to fight
over the market with gross advertising and
gimmicks. The TV advertising is in our face
Reply to Guy on anti-biotics22 Jun 2006 20:10 GMT4
Sorry,. I don't seem to be able, sometimes, to find the blank space for
a proper reply.  Strange.
I've recently had some bladder infections which produced prescriptions
for anti-biotics, and the latest test, which involved general

Update on my labs22 Jun 2006 04:26 GMT6
Dr. finally called me back this morning and told me to up the Lisinopril
from 20 to 30 mg.  I asked him if there was anything else I should be doing
and he said "no".  I had a few extra 20's so I took half of one before I got
the new prescription at the pharmacy.  I had to go lie ...
Reaching a plateau for losing weight22 Jun 2006 02:16 GMT34
I work out - cardio/weights up to 5 days per week. I've been eating
salads (lettuce, sunflower seeds, chanadal, no dressing, almonds) for lunch,
which is way less than I used to eat when I went to the mall. My weight hovers
now between 128 to 131, but it doesn't want to ...
My labs.  :(22 Jun 2006 01:28 GMT31
Got my labs back today.  I've had bad swelling in my feet and legs for the
past several day and Endo. was concerned about protein in my urine.  And
indeed he found it.  :(  Not entirely sure what it means, although I've
looked it up and it doesn't look good.

I went to take my Lasix and was thinking about my Granddaughters and son's
upcoming visit...well instead of the lasix I took my Metformin again. So I
called my Dr...she said since it had been 15 hours ...
A few updates21 Jun 2006 22:10 GMT10
A few months ago I started a thread about diabetic footware, and then
later a new thread about my uninsured husband with BGs in the 200-300
range.  Here are the updates for those interested:
I asked about footware for a trip to Europe.  I ended up buying a pair
