alpha-Lipoic acid decreases insulin output10 Jun 2006 18:17 GMT2
This abstract reviews the many positive effects of alpha-Lipoic acid for
diabetes.  Using isolated beta cells alone in a lab setting, acute
exposure to it reduced insulin output and had other effects.  Given its
half-life of a few hours in the human body it might be best to take ...
Knee Pain10 Jun 2006 14:37 GMT42
Over the past two weeks I've suddenly developed two very painful knees
without having had any accidents, twisting, etc.
I'm wondering if this might be related to the use of insulin. I have
been fighting tendon problems all over my body all year, but they have

I'm just becoming Type 2 diabetic and a few weeks ago someone
on this group mentioned a brisk walk about an hour after
eating to burn off the glucose.
I just tried it, beginning a 15-minute walk just as my glucose

If they are going to replace the sugar in something to reduce the carbs
what's the point of putting sugar alcohol in it; a joke?

Nutrisystem "Diabetic Type II" diet plan???10 Jun 2006 03:34 GMT28
I'm male, in my mid-60s, in reasonable control with an A1c of about 6 -
on metformin. Too sedentary with some joint problems, so the objective
is to lose about 20# and keep it off.
Nutrisystem advertising looks good (of course), and my physicians both

Animas vs. Mini Med 50809 Jun 2006 16:46 GMT13
Just received a promo for Animas. Animas claims to work while under 15'
of water, though I don't know if I would be working under 15' of water,
and Animas claims to calculate bolus needs based on carb intake, which I
can pretty much do in my head, unless I'm under 15' of water.
