strenuous exercise and insulin13 Jun 2006 19:48 GMT4
I am 53 years old with type1 diabetes late onset (@ jun 2003). I would
be interested in any comments on this, especially from anyone who finds
the need to shoot up in the middle of exercise .  I usual shoot novolog
at meals (1 nit per 30grs) with 30 units of lantus in the evening.  ...
I'm borderline anemic and T2, what are the tests for "free iron" in the blood?13 Jun 2006 17:04 GMT4
Group,
Most of the time, all of the readings on my blood count panel come
back from the lab borderline low.  At the bottom of the acceptable
range for red count, low hematocrit, platelets, so on.

Fast acting insulin tablet?13 Jun 2006 07:38 GMT15
I read this in the paper yesterday from Annie's Mailbox, and wonder what
it means? Is there such a thing as a "fast acting insulin tablet?" I've
never heard of it if there is, but maybe someone else has. I'm curious.

Knee Pain - Doctor Visit12 Jun 2006 22:24 GMT74
I dragged myself to the doctor early this morning. He examined my joints
and said that the way they are inflamed it seems more likely that I have
something called "parvovirus" which causes exactly the symptoms I have.
He said that with Lyme the joint would usually be more ...

Claim, weight loss "cures" diabetes12 Jun 2006 20:19 GMT4
Concerning Mr. Chung's assertion that weight loss "cures" diabetes, weight
loss from bypass surgery offered as evidence:
"Actually, there are many examples."
me: Happy to entertain any of them you think possible.
Free food12 Jun 2006 20:14 GMT7
Where is all the food that is fat free, sugar free, carb free and very
low sodium? If that's what we need why ain't it being mass produced? We
would surely buy it all up.
PP and Carbs12 Jun 2006 19:23 GMT49
I've started to change when I measure my bg to 1 and 2 hours pp, and I
am worried  because the readings are going over 10, if I have a slice
of wholemeal bread, or potato or seemingly any carbohydrate.
If I stick to lean meat, fish etc and salad they stay below 7, but i

Ok, so a little about me, male, overweight, living in the US, dieting and
now working out.
I was diagnoised in the UK with diabetes, but it was very mild and could be
controlled by diet, so I move to the US, and Whammy it all goes out of sync
A Cure For Diabetes? Which One?12 Jun 2006 12:44 GMT8
I always wonder when I hear the term "cure for diabetes". The
thought that always pops into my head is "Which one?".  Seriously,
think about it for a minute. Any "cure" for diabetes is probably
not going to be for every diabetic. A cure for type 1 will most likely
Rant of the day12 Jun 2006 11:28 GMT4
Back in February this year, I went to Ashford & St Peter's (ASP) for my 6
monthly check. Reasonably happy, slowly losing weight, Fasting BGs generally
4.5-5.5, PP (2hr) generally in range 5.5-6.5. They "forgot" to do a HbA1c.
(grrr) I made a next appointment for 24/08/06.
