| Mass turns out to be chronic hematoma | 07 May 2006 11:59 GMT | 13 |
If you are an old geezer like me who bicycles a lot and takes 81 mg. aspirin daily, you might just fall off your bike one day and a month later find you've got a rapidly growing mass that the average orthopedist will diagnose as a cyst or a tumor. You may start taking Ibuprofin ...

| Doctor Visit | 07 May 2006 09:38 GMT | 10 |
Just been to see my friendly GP who pricked me to check my sugar - it was 5. The long term was also 5. The spike (which was 12) was enough to make him worry - and impressed I must make lifestyle changes but not enough for constant monitoring or medication at this stage.

I've lurked about a week, and thought I would say hi. I've only recently been diagnosed (T2) and had a rather bumpy time with my GP and the meds she chose for me. The entire conversation we had about my diagnosis went (and this is verbatim):

| Exercise | 06 May 2006 21:22 GMT | 13 |
The gp told me to walk for 10 mins a day, and build it up to 20 mins a day, 3 weeks ago. I haven't done this, as I've been getting a bit of exercise moving rocks about. It appears to me that I was stronger a few weeks ago before being

| Rate Your Dietitian | 06 May 2006 16:02 GMT | 18 |
There seems to be a lot of controversy over dietitians. Some people love them, some people hate them. I would be interested in hearing your personal experiences about why you love or hate dietitians.

Also I am a new poster. As a diabetic I was primarily intererested learning how others created variety in their diets and increasing my knowledge about the nutritional values of foods. Use of the computer places voluminous resources at everyone's disposal. I had hoped this

| Request some information about quinoa | 06 May 2006 09:11 GMT | 7 |
I have seen a number of references to quinoa...but I have never eaten (or even seen) it. Can someone give me an idea of what the taste and texture are like? Also, I eliminated *all* rice and flour (as well as other "white stuff") since being diagnosed with diabetes. I know ...

I have been Type II diabetic since 1996. I started out watching what I ate but gradually slacked off. I started cycling in '99 and got my A1C down to about 7 but then it gradually started going up as my exercise routine got shorter. It is now around 12. I'm starting to get hot ...
