Pill Splitter revisited!08 May 2006 16:24 GMT11
I got the two Medport pill splitters today and a mailing label so I can mail
back the two wrong pill splitters they sent me.  Alas, the Medport pill
splitters will not work for the Metformin either because the pills are too
large to fit in them.  Does anyone know of a pill splitter ...
found some great low-carb cookbooks08 May 2006 14:57 GMT17
Thanks to Nicky I've finally found some great cookbooks for my new
eating pattern.  Nicky praised her Dana Carpender books, so I ordered
15-Minute Low-Carb Receipes.  I am not an enthusiastic cook.
This was a revelation.  I'm still working through it, and buying odd
Health --US vs England08 May 2006 14:57 GMT9
CNN has a feature where the Health of the population is discussed.
IN the US the cost of medical care is 2.5  that of England.
Many areas were studied.   It seem stress is a big factor.
As we see here we seem to be a bunch of maniacs

Concerning milk08 May 2006 03:10 GMT6
I know milk isn't great to drink alot of, and I have avoided it since I
started my diet except twice when I drank half a cup with my medicine.
But yesterday someone told me to try a product called Hood, which is
like milk but only has 3g of carbs.  I bought some and have to be
meter question07 May 2006 23:24 GMT17
I'm sorry to ask questions so soon, but I've been on hold with
LifeScan for half an hour and just gave up.
This morning I did a stick in my thumb to take my FBG and got a
reading of 127.  I know that's impossible, as I'm still getting things
Finally had visit with endo today07 May 2006 22:48 GMT148
The dear sweet woman at the scheduling desk got me in on a
cancellation.
It didn't go well. The guy just didn't LISTEN. He wanted to know what
my high and low numbers were, which I told him, which he then said were
Good news, I think07 May 2006 22:47 GMT35
Although I woke up this morning with a blood sugar reading of 153, it
came down within two hours, and for the first time since I started
testing my levels it has been below 126 for the rest of the day.  My
most previous reading, about a half-hour ago, was 113.  I'm very happy

Thoughts on low-carb, nibbling, "gratuitious carbohydrates", and portions07 May 2006 21:00 GMT53
I went out to lunch with a friend of mine today, went to Friendlys and
got their lunch-special burger with a side salad.  I picked the
croutons off the salad and skipped the bun and ate most of the rest of
it. I'm stuffed, and it was dang good :D.
Hi, some up to date news07 May 2006 20:36 GMT7
Well, my last Aic test was 6.5 and that's from 9.4 (I think from last
august) at least I've attained the American Diabetes Aic target number.
I've been getting pretty good glucose readings between 5 and 7.
However since two weeks I've been battling a bad case of constipation.
So Much for the Carbquick07 May 2006 20:34 GMT15
We tried our first Carbalose Carbquick recipe today. 1/2 of the drop
biscuit recipe for 2 people. Made sausage gravy with 1/2 cup of skimmed
milk, 1/2 cup water and 2 tbsp Carbquick. According to the labels the
whole meal was about 15g.

Beef jerky (again)07 May 2006 15:28 GMT3
Was in Stainsburys last night, somewhere I don't go very often as it's
like a fashion parade in there some nights.
They are also selling beef jerky now, and had it on display near the
crisps and other stuff around the sandwich cabinets.
