I have just been diagnosed with late onset diabetes (age 50) and am
really unsure what to do. I have been given a diet sheet, which seems
to say eat anything in moderation, which is not a lot of help.

My husband had his physical last Friday, along with a bunch of fasting
bloodwork. The bloodwork came back yesterday (his is pretty much
normal, though could be better I think - fbg 92, hgbA1c 5.2)  and right
on the lab results sheet it had for the fasting  "Normal < 110".

My last UK lab result (September '05) gave the limits for IFG as 6.1mmol to
6.9mmol (inclusive).   This is (near enough) equivalent in mg/dl to the
range 110 to 125.   My FBG was 5.8 which puts me in the 'normal' range.
