Inhalable insulin -- Exubera08 Apr 2006 21:56 GMT53
I'm a T2, and as something of a control fanatic I've used Starlix
(nateglenide) to boost insulin production after meals. My diabetologist
suggests that I'd make a good First Patient for Exubera.
Has anyone else heard that from his/her physician? The idea is that this
Pho No!08 Apr 2006 18:34 GMT62
Today I had pho for lunch for the first time since... Well, since I
don't remember when.  My friend came over to suck coffee and do my
hair for me, it seemed reasonable to repay her kindness (overlooking
that she sucked a LOT of my good coffee) by treating her to lunch.
Actos plus Metformin08 Apr 2006 16:52 GMT12
Hi. I have been reading posts for a long while but this is my first time to
send a post. I am a Type 2 diagnosed in July, 2004. I initially started on
Metformin, advanced to Fortamet which is an extended release Metformin 2000
mg at night, then my doctor added 2mg Amaryl but I ...
ADA Dietary Advice Explored [Long]08 Apr 2006 14:42 GMT26
I've been critical of the ADA dietary recommendations for some time. In
this NG, we hear lots of statements about diets, from ADA to Atkins to
South Beach, but I've always gone along with the popular preconceptions
here, and never had the intellectual curiosity to actually check ...

There're still companies manufacture meters that check glucose in Whole

It's now known that such meters results are 11% to 15% Less than those which

Doing the happy dance! (for once!)08 Apr 2006 07:11 GMT34
I saw the endo nutrionist this AM - she was GREAT.  Looked at my
bg/symptom logs, listened to what I had tried and not tried, then said
"You're already doing everything I could tell you to try, but while
it's worked for other people you're still shaking anyway. You don't
To Ozgirl08 Apr 2006 03:54 GMT2
Hi .....
My meter's Accu-chek Go and my software program is Compass. Now I think all
meters in Australia read glucose level in whole blood. This type of meter's
readings are 11% to 15% less than meters that read as plasma.

dry foot08 Apr 2006 03:00 GMT1
My basement stairs have a winder at the bottom and is tucked into a corner
of the basement.  Going down stairs, my bare foot slid off the step and
dived feet first into the concrete wall.  Scared me because I thought I
broke something.  Except for a skinned up lag and two toes ...
Not yet diagnosed - on the borderline08 Apr 2006 00:24 GMT17
Last FBG level came at 6.0 mmol per litre exactly.  Physician does not
diagnose me yet, but range of 6.1 to 6.9 means suboptimal usage of
chemistry.
To me, being on the borderline like this means that I can (and I

I found a pill on the floor under a chair.
It is either Gemfibrozil or Metformin, but I do not know which, and I do not
know the dosage.
The pharmacist is not able to identify the pill from my description.
