I'm an infrequent reader, even less frequent poster here. Simple question, I hope: I have a pretty bad problem with Dawn Phenomenon. My insulin to carb ratio at lunch and dinner is 1:22, but at breakfast it's more like 1:10

I had for breakfast this morning 4 pieces of French Toast with Maple Syrup (cinnamon sugar on top of the toast too) and 2 hours later was feeling a bit crappy. I took my byetta and metformin (1000 mg) with the Byetta shot before I ate it.

I have struggled periodically with the magical thinking problem "if I ignore it, my diabetes will go away". That thought's cousin "F*&$ it, I'm going to eat what I want" also plague me. I'm very curious: what do other folks do when the bad thoughts override the good ones?

this article also gives a nice explanation of the mechanisms behind diabetic neuropathy. I _think_ the same explanation can be given for the diabetic neuropathy effecting (my) feet. It also explains why anti-oxidants like Alpha Lipoic Acid work well for diabetic neuropathy.
