Sulfonylureas and insulin use tied to cancer deaths in diabetics17 Mar 2006 00:46 GMT2
There is quite a lot of research tying hyperinsulinemia to higher
incidence of various cancers, this may be how the risk is elevated with
these drugs.  Another good reason to consider modifying diet in a way
Oh, the irony !17 Mar 2006 00:25 GMT5
As a fairly newly diagnosed type 2, I was just thinking how ironic
that diagnosis is, given what I do for a living.
I am in trucking, and today my company is picking
up many truckloads of refined sugar.  Today

Alan,
I know you think you think you started a new thread but you didn't.
Changing the subject title within a thread will still keep it in that

If I could control Charity Funding16 Mar 2006 22:47 GMT4
After reading through an a.s.d thread 'If you ran the ADA' I got thinking of
all the money that has/is being wasted by the charities. There has been
years of charity money spent on finding out what causes diabetes with very
few results worth having, then I read of money spent to ...
How do I get FBG down?16 Mar 2006 20:51 GMT12
How do I get FBG down? I am usually about 120 but can be as high as 160 if I
wake later on the week-ends. The only thing that has worked for me is
getting up at 4:00 am and taking my meds and eating something, but that is
getting old fast.

Blurred vision with low BG16 Mar 2006 07:35 GMT3
I was diagnosed with T2 about 6 months ago.  I seem to have a problem with
blurred vision when I'm outside walking in the cold. My vision is not
permenantly blurred, in fact, it never blurs when I'm actually looking at
something. It's just that as my eyes move from place to place ...
Question about testing16 Mar 2006 06:15 GMT23
I wanted to ask about the post meal bg numbers.  If I want to test 2
hours after a meal (say breakfast)
I should not be having anything in between - is that correct ? And that
includes coffee with cream/sugar
Doctor Said Mild Case of Diabetes as Diagnosis16 Mar 2006 04:54 GMT21
I don't understand what a mild case of Diabetes is. I always thought
there is no such thing. It's almost like saying someone is a little
pregant. Is my doctor competent after this diagnosis?
diabetic impotence question16 Mar 2006 03:34 GMT27
If a man with diabetes and impotence tries Viagra and it doesn't help,
does that mean that other impotence medicines like Cialis also won't
help?
Or are there different categories of impotence medicines?

How effective is controlling BG in halting type-2 progression?15 Mar 2006 20:24 GMT16
I have an elderly relative that was diagnosed with diabetes-mellitus
adult about 20 years ago. She tests her blood only once a day, in the
morning, fasting. Her readings are normal, usually under 100.
But her A1c is about 8.  Yesterday, I had her test 90 minutes after a

A diabetic friend of mine is getting a steroid shot in his foot for
plantar facisiitis.  I know the steroid puts your numbers out of whack,
but for how long?  Anyone ever have this?  Thanks.
Best,
