While I am still trying to get my BG under control (thanks to many of
you for your advice!)
and am noticing small progress, I had a major slip today.
My fasting BG is 128 (still to high but down from where it was) and 1
REC: Cajun Stuffed Pork04 Feb 2006 10:48 GMT13
I just posted a recipe on A.F.D. for an elegant stuffed pork loin roast.
It's not a simple or inexpensive recipe but the dish is wonderful both in
flavor and presentation. It calls for dried whole grain bread but you could
replace part of that with some oatmeal if you wanted to ...
Earth to RK: Google is your friend04 Feb 2006 00:29 GMT26
Well, then again, maybe not, as Google would show you that the BRAIN is
NOT a MUSCLE.
(Still laughing so hard I can hardly type this!)

Help: Off orals on needles03 Feb 2006 23:37 GMT2
I have long been a lurker on this group. My DH has been T2 for 21 years.
He's also had cardiac bypass surgery 2X and has CHF. We just moved and
he has new docs. The Endo decided his meds were either not helping or
not good for the CHF. He had been on Precose and ...
Even Oprah now believes in the truth03 Feb 2006 23:26 GMT84
Recently I was discussing liars and lying on this NG.  Some posters
think there are "good" reasons to lie, and I don't (other than little
white lies to spare someone embarrassment--let's be reasonable here, folks)
Oprah defended the drug-addict(James Frey)-turned-author who duped ...

Is there a smoke screen?03 Feb 2006 17:15 GMT4
It has been suggested that the current "FAT"
publicity is a coverup for ther many failures
of our health care system.
At one time I was attending a sales seminar.
Mixing Levemir (Detemir) with NovoRapid?03 Feb 2006 14:43 GMT6
I wonder if anyone could give me their advice?
I've had type 1 diabetes for 20 years and (through my own choice) I'm on
twice-daily injections of insulin which I mix myself. In the morning (before
breakfast) I mix Novorapid+Insulatard. In the evening (before dinner) I
Fish oil and blood thinning03 Feb 2006 13:37 GMT26
I had heard that Fish oil (Omega 3) was a natural blood thinner. On
the advice of a doctor I increased my fish oil supplements from 1-2
grams a day to 4 grams a day. Today I lanced my ring finger to test BG
and much to my surprise the blood squirted out so much that it
Different GI's of carbs and insulin03 Feb 2006 10:02 GMT6
Hiya. I am quite new to reading this group. I hope you can help me with
something myself and my partner have been looking about for for a month
or so now.
If you take Lantis (24 hour action) and NovaRapid (bolus before meals)

Diabetes,  Psoriasis and CD03 Feb 2006 07:53 GMT8
After I was diagnosed with celiac disease in 1996 and went on a gluten free
(g/f)
diet.  Not too long after that I got these red spots, kind of like the
measles, and this
A matter of compromise?03 Feb 2006 07:42 GMT90
There is, in another thread,  a conversation going on that I find
rather interesting and feel like I'd like to open up to the group in
general.
It is the matter of how in a co-habitational situation the diabetic
A1C and Itchy legs03 Feb 2006 06:16 GMT14
Here I am again... still angry at a T1 diagnosis in June this past
year. But dealing...
I am on 4 shots a day now and have my BG under control... EXCEPT the
past 2 weeks.  I was traveling for work and spiking at 400.  I kept
