Fuzzy Feet14 Feb 2006 08:52 GMT8
Hi all... I read more than I post.
I recently saw an endo for the first time after arguing with my GP for
a referral.  I have been running 300-600, fasting or otherwise, for 6
months and didn't feel my GP was aggressive enough in the treatment.
Newly diagnosed? Get to your eye doc right away!!! 14 Feb 2006 07:57 GMT60
If you are a newly diagnosed diabetic, you may experience some visual
changes that are temporary. This seems to lead the medical profession,
or some parts of it at least, to tell you to wait and have a full exam
in a year, then once a year thereafter.

Exercise Sharing Time14 Feb 2006 04:23 GMT37
We haven't talked about exercise in a long time, so here goes.
I recently bought an MP3 player and it 's made an improvement in my
motivation to walk more often. I've got my favorite music on it--no
skipovers.
Dialysis Question13 Feb 2006 23:10 GMT4
I had a question regarding kidney dialysis that I thought someone here
may be able to answer.
Once you start dialysis treatment, are you on it for the rest of your
life?  As a T1, I know that kidney disease is a possibility over the
Eat ice cream and lose weight naturally !13 Feb 2006 17:52 GMT7
I loss weight by eating ice cream. I lost 50 pounds in 14 weeks. A
friend introduced me to Prycena. It's a drug free, contains no
ephedra, is caffeine-free, has no side effects, and it is an excellent
source of calcium. I make my own ice cream with 1% chocolate milk. For
Unexpected happening.13 Feb 2006 16:48 GMT2
My FBG before breakfast this morning was 5.1, and I have been running in the 5-6 range for
a few days now (even a couple of <5s!!!) so I know my endo is going to be really pleased
with me.
After breakfast (of a type which has never caused any serious rise) I went out to install
Siren Song of Potato Chips13 Feb 2006 16:18 GMT19
Potato chips in big colorful bags piled high on store shelves seem to be
calling out to me lately. I've been able to ignore them for months. Now,
whenever I go into a store, I'm in a battle with myself. I look at the
nutrition label hoping for a misprint or a miracle, but it ...
New type 2 - still have a lot to learn13 Feb 2006 09:52 GMT18
I was diagnosed a type 2, Jan 23, 2006.  My doctor gave me an Ascensia
Breeze monitor and I downloaded the software from their site as to help me
track my BG levels.  According to the meter and the software my range is
from 65 to 156.  Nurse told me my range is from 70 to 120.  ...
Sugar-free Magic Morsels13 Feb 2006 08:44 GMT13
Went searching for Fairytale Brownies, and found some sugar-free ones.  Do not know nutritional
details, but at least the sugar-free sounds less damaging anyway.   :)

diagnosed last April .  Fasting blood sugar was apx 380 +. AC1 16 or
higher ( can't recall exact figures but these are close). I remember
when I came back in for my 3 month check up and Doctor was happy that it
was down to (Ac1) 13. That alone should tell you something.
Vit. C12 Feb 2006 21:50 GMT3
I had a cold and noticed that high doses of Vit C allowed me to be able
to eat more carbs with no side effects. Then I found the following
article.

Had 1st low blood sugar "episode"12 Feb 2006 21:15 GMT13
Well, it was the 1st one I have at least known of in the 3 years I have had
type 2. To my dose of byetta at dinner, ate chicken and wild rice (baked
apricot chicken) and about 45 minutes later started feeling sick. Had nausea
and was wondering if my sugar was 170 or more as I ...
Low Carb Potatoes12 Feb 2006 20:53 GMT14
Fern Britton, on This Morning a couple days ago, said that Vivaldi potatoes
(which are supposed to be lower in carbs and calories) are available at
Sainsbury's.  I had heard at one time that someone was working on developing
a low carb potato but had no idea it had been done.  ...
