I went for a physical a couple of weeks ago and just received a letter

New BG Test Strips18 Feb 2006 23:24 GMT22
I don't know how many of you use the Wal-Mart Relion meter (if any),

changed, in a good way, IMHO.  They now take only 5 seconds to get a
Hypos, the next phase18 Feb 2006 23:14 GMT32
I'm a T2, insulin dependent. I recently added Symlin to my insulin.
The results have been truly impressive, but the downside is I've had
more hypos in the last month than in the prevoius five years.
So far I've dipped no lower than the low 50s. At that point, I'm

When is the best time to test?  Type II18 Feb 2006 23:04 GMT22
I am a lousy trend tester and my doc wants to see more.     When I do
test, it has always been on waking in the morning, before eating.
Just once, if that, a day.   I am happy seeing what effect a day's
worth of poor will power has done.  I use an Accu-Chek complete as it

New Diabetics Misinformed18 Feb 2006 22:33 GMT22
My diabetes support group meetings are always stimulating in one way or
another. Last night a newly diagnosed type II fellow showed up and shared
that his numbers were wildly out of control.  His wife said his vision was
getting fuzzy. With some questioning, we found the ...
T2 and immune system?18 Feb 2006 22:25 GMT4
Lately I've been catching everything that comes around.
I've had the sniffles about 70% of the time since November,
and I'm currently battling a VERY FUN stomach virus.
Coincidentally (or maybe not), my blood sugars have been

Bread - low carb/multigran etc.18 Feb 2006 20:52 GMT4
People talk about low-carb bread, but I've not seen it in local shops.   Can
anyone let me have a (few) UK brand-names, please?   Is there any downside
to this sort of bread?   Do they contain anything that some might consider
noxious eg artficial sweeteners?
Misuse of statistics to predict the future.18 Feb 2006 18:02 GMT2
We must remember that a current event has no memory
of the past.    Each iteration is a new game.  They
have no value in prediction of individual items.

A crazy question.18 Feb 2006 15:36 GMT41
Without defending myself but by way of explanation, I have been under
undue stress since the beginning of the year.
Friday, I was hit with a good one that I wont go into.  At the moment of
the stress my appetitie was gone.

My doc said it is from the Avandia I am on. He says it should go away. I
am now taking Lasix 40mg and I still have significant swelling, although
it is a bit better.
Has anyone else had swelling in the calves/feet from Avandia? If yes,
