Glucose readings24 Jan 2006 03:01 GMT7
Do you ever doubt a reading and take another one using blood from the same
finger stick and get a different reading?
I tested the other morning after watching meds and food carefully and got a
223 reading.

Total confusion24 Jan 2006 01:49 GMT12
I'm not technically diabetic, but very very close to the IGT/IFG boundaries
and I'm taking that as a severe warning to mend my ways.   I've got a meter
(ACCU-chek Advantage) and I've probably been measuring too much (finger tips
all a bit sore).   The results are hard to ...
CORTISONE INJECTIONS24 Jan 2006 00:29 GMT7
Had my shoulder injected with cortizone today.  A new experience for
me.  Not as painful as I thought it would be.  The doc said a dentist
taught him how to give shots that are almost painless.  Worked for me!
Was aware that cortisone could cause increase in BG but thought it was
Medication (was "Forum growing <BG>")23 Jan 2006 21:35 GMT1
Hi Peter,
My medication also reflects my status as a stroke victim - about five years ago I had a TIA that seriously affected my right-hand side.
I don't know where you saw my medication (it's OK, it's no secret) but, like many diabetics, I'm only a couple of pounds overweight.
I ...

This week's Medscape newsletters produced an interesting correlation between
PCOS and finger length.

I wonder if there's a relationship between diabetes and finger length too,
Allergic reaction to Metaglip23 Jan 2006 21:19 GMT4
My Doc had me on 2x500mg of Metaglip and I came down with what I thought was
an allergy similar to my ragweed cutting allergy. Continuous bouts of
coughing, throat constricting, choking feeling, couldn't talk at times-4-5
mins, wet sinuses, clear runny fluid out of nose. I ...

I post information about new technology that affects diabetics whenever
I run across it and it always invokes a strong interest in those
afflicted by the chronic disease.  Diabetics are looking for the holy

Magnesium and Diabetes23 Jan 2006 16:19 GMT7
The International Medical Veritas Association is opening a new
section on diabetes, and recommending transdermal magnesium chloride
(magnesium oil) to raise levels of magnesium in our bodies and possibly
prevent the complications of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.  Which
Fasting glucose question23 Jan 2006 15:14 GMT13
I just had the official test at the lab.  I purposely picked a "good" day to
go, when my home meter read 88 on the fasting glucose.  I got the lab
results, which showed 109.  Very close to the edge, just the thing I was
trying to avoid.  I have checked the meter, and it is normal, ...

Hello all I am new to the group, and trying to find help for a friend.
