A1C home Test26 Jan 2006 13:58 GMT5
I found out about a year and a half ago that I was diabetic.  Since then
the A1C tests that were done at the lab and at home were in the 5 %
range.  With diet alone I have been getting fasting readings in 90 to
105 range (usually around 95).  The highest after meal readings are in

Novolog potency decline26 Jan 2006 08:18 GMT16
About a month ago I switched from mealtime Humalog to Novolog (at the
insistence of my Rite-Aid pharmacy). Things were ok with no change
from my Humalog doses to my Novolog doses for about 3 weeks.
For the past week I have been out of whack. It's beginning to look
Ultra Booklet Promotes AACE Guideline!26 Jan 2006 06:17 GMT5
Imagine my delight when I scanned through the cartoon-illustrated
booklet included with my new OneTouch Ultra meter and found that they
were recommending:

Are New Diabetics like Newel Posts?26 Jan 2006 06:02 GMT32
Well, are they? Years ago, I had never heard of the term, Newel Post.
As I am wont to do, I looked it up after seeing it in a novel. After
that, Newel Post kept turning up everywhere. Now, since being diagnosed,
new diabetics are seemingly coming out of the woodwork.
Woo-Hoo my pump's on the way!26 Jan 2006 02:48 GMT9
Just got off the phone with MM, and my pump, a 715, will be here Monday!   First shared the
possibility of going on the pump here whenever it was that my endo first mentioned it, and
wanted this to be the first place I shared the good news!  I have to tell how I happened to

Bye bye 26 Jan 2006 02:09 GMT25
Due to personal reasons, I will no longer be posting to asd.
I do not wish to discuss this in anyway. As I said, it's personal.
As the dolphins said in the series of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy",

Stress and diabetes...26 Jan 2006 01:58 GMT40
Can acute stress cause a person's glucose reading to be higher than usual?
It seems lately that my husband's blood sugar reading is higher when he is
stressed.  TIA

Interesting times26 Jan 2006 00:26 GMT107
I just had an interesting period. My Bg decided to go nuts. I caught it
going thru 63 and drank a small glass of OJ which sent it up to 176 when I
took 5 units of Novolog and now it's at 93 right this second and I have no
idea if it's going lower. Wonder what's causing this? I ...

This morning I injected 10 units of Novolin N 100U, it didn't do crap to
my BG and people scared to death going low.
After a half hour of injection ate a low-carb burito, filled with some
chicken, vegetable mix, mayonnaise my BG went to 325 from 209 in 1 1/2 hour.

The International Medical Veritas Association is opening a new
section on diabetes, and recommending transdermal magnesium chloride
(magnesium oil) to raise levels of magnesium in our bodies and possibly
prevent the complications of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.  Which

Joe
