Thank you for all your responses - most helpful. My testing proceeds. So far the only things that don't give me a one hour high are celery and walnuts. (The bad news Mr J. is that you'll have to eat nothing but celery and walnuts for the rest of your life. The good news is,

I'm looking for a glucose meter that also helps me count carbs. I viewed the "Tracker" by Therasense (maker of the Freestyle meter), but it only seemed to track carbs by what I would enter. It also seems to be off the market now. If I bought a Handspring and the Tracker, maybe

I've been trying to figure out what true normal BG levels are for a non diabetic, and specifically for a person in her late 70's. I've seen references citing everything from Jennifer's guidelines, to under 90 at all times.
