Fortamet Question18 Jan 2006 15:44 GMT7
My doctor gave me samples of  Fortamet and a prescription, which I need to
get started with (mostly because I'm on prednisone but regardless, he says
it's time to treat the blood sugars). Anyway, I know I am supposed to take
it with my evening meal, but I'm wondering how close ...
OT? Ping pilots - shingles18 Jan 2006 13:13 GMT5
My SIL has shingles. My Dad and I were talking about it last night, and he
said he had them as a young man in the RAF; the common cure for them amongst
the pilots was to take an unpressured plane up for a while.
Do any of you flyers recognise this? Have any idea if it's more than ...

diabetes questions18 Jan 2006 10:30 GMT23
I have been type 2 for a few years now and have just been under the
care of my primary care doctor.  My blood glucose is not doing well nor
is my hbA1C.  My doctor has me on Avandia and Glipizide and says that's
it, after this it's on to insulin.  I'm leary of that because I have
Carotenoids... a simple eating plan18 Jan 2006 05:45 GMT15
G'day G'day Folks,
Sometimes it takes a bit of effort to get information into a form that
is simple to use.  Hopefully it is worth it.
The idea is eat one serving from each of the four categories to supply
Downside of low A1c18 Jan 2006 04:17 GMT4
G'day G'day Folks,
Our teletxt has a report that a low A1c isn't always desirable for
diabetics.  Apparently it has been shown that diabetics with a high
A1c have a better survival rate WHEN they are in LATE STAGE HEART
omnipod insulin pump18 Jan 2006 03:34 GMT24
A few months ago I posted an inquiry about the omnipod
insulin pump, but I never saw any replies. This is a
relatively new type pump that uses a wifi connection
between the programming device and the actual insulin

My Rant.......18 Jan 2006 02:13 GMT14
Yeah, diabetes Type 2 for 20 years.  the first fifteen years badly
controlled.  My vision is almost gone from the side effects of laser
surgeries.
Well, I have had good control for five years since my eyes started bleeding

Need Research Help17 Jan 2006 22:18 GMT4
First off, I had my spleen removed many years ago due to an accident.
I read somewhere that the effect of not having a spleen would increase
the lifespan of my red blood cells and thus give a higher reading of
glucose in my blood.  I assume that that would throw my A1C completely
New doctor/metformin/exercise17 Jan 2006 22:08 GMT12
At the same time I got a new doctor I got an A1c result of 6.3.  My A1c has
hovered between 4.7 and 5.9 without meds since diagnosis, but with a lot of
effort put into diet and exercise.  I think my A1c went up because for the
few months before the test I wasn't able to exercise as ...
