I have been type 2 for a few years now and have just been under the

I was on line in a bank with a friend, looking at the lead article in

First off, I had my spleen removed many years ago due to an accident.
I read somewhere that the effect of not having a spleen would increase
the lifespan of my red blood cells and thus give a higher reading of
glucose in my blood.  I assume that that would throw my A1C completely

At the same time I got a new doctor I got an A1c result of 6.3.  My A1c has
hovered between 4.7 and 5.9 without meds since diagnosis, but with a lot of
