Only Pudding Causes A Rise In BG, Not A Main Meal29 Dec 2005 18:58 GMT4
No, this is not a troll.
Believe it or not this is what I was told while visiting my father in
hospital. Admittedly, it was a Health Care Assistant, and not a nurse,
but such rubbish will be believed by many patients.
my doctor appt. not good29 Dec 2005 17:21 GMT24
I went to the doctor yesterday after my dental appt where I had my last of
four cavities extracted and it is not a good report.
I may still post here but to be honest I am giving up on my fight. Get mad
at me if you will as I do deserve it but it won't change my attitude on how
ability to correct ?29 Dec 2005 15:41 GMT9
It appears that T2's vary greatly in their ability to keep within safe BG
levels. In my situation it is quite easy to  remain in the 5.0-7.0 (100/126)
range. This includes having to eat some form of sugar each day to maintain my
BG levels. My management strategy has worked for me, ...

I  never cease to be amazed by your pursuit of the
technical aspect of diabetes.   For most,
the key item is knowledge instead of
simple recipes.
REC:  A bit of fun at the table. 29 Dec 2005 03:38 GMT2
Who says diabetics have to eat boring food?
Just for fun I did a de-carbed version of Saganaki (Greek Flaming Cheese).
It's a nice way to start off a meal or have a snack with friends. Usual
cautions apply about flaming foods: Keep only a small amount of liquor at

Had my second appointment with the Diabetes Clinic since being DX'd in
June (2005).
The Nurse-Practitioner said I've done soooo well managing my health
that she doesn't see a need for further scheduled clinic visits
Two bits of good news29 Dec 2005 00:34 GMT8
(1)  I've found a good midwife.  Even better, she's not frightened by
the diabetic VBAC thing.  Kerching.  And she's £1400 cheaper than the
bunch who let me down.  Shame I've only got four weeks to get to know
her in, but I think she's the right one for me.

Dark Chocolate - another study 28 Dec 2005 19:49 GMT6
Here is another study that shows a strong indication that dark chocolate may
be good for your blood vessels (and associated heart heart health).

BG still up after steroid shot28 Dec 2005 15:14 GMT5
I got a Dacadron shot from Doctor one week ago for Bronchitus and it
sent my fasting  blood sugar over 200. I am usually very well
controlled rarely over 120. I am worried this might be a permenent
thing. Has anyone had this same thing happen to them? My fasting BG
I made it through Christmas!28 Dec 2005 12:10 GMT15
Here I am the day after Christmas with no (diabetic) hangover!  Yesterday I
ate a Christmas dinner of smoked salmon, foie gras, roast duck with rice
stuffing, a clementine and sugar free chocolates, with red wine to drink.
I did not test yesterday.  Too much discipline is too much.  ...
Merry Christmas to all of my Christian friends in ASD28 Dec 2005 00:40 GMT66
Laurie and I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas.
We both just love the holiday even though we always spend the day here
at home by ourselves. You see we know that all of our children are
spending the day in their own homes with their kids which is exactly
Many Thanks to All You Carck Creamers Out There27 Dec 2005 20:10 GMT6
After being reminded about "Zim's Crack Cream" last night by some
posts on this group, I remembered I have some that I have hardly used.
As my fungal spot on my ankle was really itching and irritated
yesterday, I decided to give the Zim's a try.... It did help a lot. It
